| Gokusen 3 is the very first JDrama I've watched. I've only watched the first episode and I am really enjoying it. I know I'm rather new to this, but great TV is great TV... The Japanese game shows attracted me to this site, but I think I'll be staying for Gokusen 3 and the community. It helps that the show has a little bit of comedy in it. Are there any shows that anybody can recommend that has a bit of comedy splashed into the show?

The first j-drama I watched was the last one-third of Kokoro. I happened to see it on TV one day before work and the lead actress, Nakagoshi Noriko, really caught my attention - I though she was incredibly charming. The episodes were only 15 minutes each so it was easy to watch each morning while having breakfast before I went to the office.
Then I happened to catch the second half of the k-drama Super Rookie. I recognized Eric from Shinwha and again the lead actress caught my attention (Han Ga In). After watching a few other k-dramas I stopped watching dramas for a while.
I was pretty much just watching what was on channel 18/19 here in Los Angeles and happened to catch Sailor Fuku to Kikanju. While the series was not that great, I really liked Shinichi Tsutsumi so I Googled him. I was lucky enough to discover the treasure chest of drama information that is D-Addicts. That started the ball rolling again and I've been a j-drama addict ever since.
I haven't gone back to k-dramas in a while, they tend to be a little too dramatic for my liking.

My very first was Trick (Season) followed by Densha Otoko, and Akiba@Deep (TV-Nihon fansubs).
[Tokusatsu doesn't count as a "Drama" but its on the firsts list]
After that was Gokusen Season 1 (and all the other SARS realeases)...
