[Done] [Eternal Fansubs] Requesting help for AIKURUSHII

I was interested in subtitling the drama but at this point, I don't think I can do it alone. If anyone could/would help, that would be really helpful because there are some parts that are very difficult for me to translate.

tianj has acquired subtitles/timing for all the episodes out so far in Korean. So the timing is practically all done so all that we have to worry about is the translation so probably need people who understand Japanese and/or who can read/understand Korean and can translate that into english.

I'd be willing to help out, at least in the beginning. I'm starting a new job soon, so I don't know how much time I'll have, but this was a fun drama and the Japanese was on the simple side. I just pmed tianj for the korean subs - you can pm me if you are still interested in doing this.

Here's some advice... Anytime I have a collection of RAWs waiting to be subbed, I hunt down one of the more organized fansub groups, make contact with one of their representatives, and work out a deal. You can still take part (large or small) in the process, but the major advantage is that it now becomes a sanctioned project with that certain fansub group, adding credibility to the project.

It's great that individuals are taking a stab at fansubbing as a lone wolf. However, it causes some problems:

1) If you make your intentions public, you're going to have people like kyosak start bothering you. That adds pressure to those individuals who are working on the subs.

2) It is even a bigger problem when you're giving subbing a shot, publicly telling people you're working on XXXXX, and then later on find out how difficult it is. Now you have the pressure of your peers, almost forcing you to continue despite your personal problems.

By giving the jobs to the bigger fansubbing groups, the public relations problem then becomes a group problem. They know how to handle crowd control!! Also, they're experts in project management, and they have the resources already available in case there's a problem within the project.

Ehhh... I didn't realize that this thread was different from a subtitle request thread. If my previous post "bothered" you in any way, I apologize.

But now that I've read deeper in your post, I see that you have a set of Korean subtitles for this series! I'm actually fluent in Korean, yes I can read/write it. I'm relatively new to the drama scene, and I've never subtitled anything before, but it sounds like I could help. Yes, yt_toshi I guess I am "desparate" to watch this series and it looks like I've led my useless post into something worth mentioning. As for the subtitling, I've always admired the work of all the people who have made it possible for me to watch movies/dramas from different countries and helping out in something like this sounds like a great idea to me. I guess I misunderstood the purpose of this "fansubbing" forum. I was looking around earlier when Ai Kurushii first started coming out, and I didn't see any other groups interested in translating (I would have offered to help if I had seen any). But I think posting an invitation to interested parties in this forum like armaniboi did was the right thing to do - now instead of three or four random individuals trying to fansub it separately, we have the possibility of a team effort.

Now, I'm not an experienced fansubber to say the least, which is why i make no promises, but especially with the timing out, a project like this seems more feasable, especially since other people are interested in doing it too. I think we make a promise to the fan base once we start publishing the fan files, but just discussing it here isn't exactly a promise - its a well meaning start.

Not that I'm trying to chastise anyone here, really, but I just wanted to say that I was glad this thread was made.

Yes with what groink said, I really did voice my thoughts a little too early. I really wanted to do it but then yeah, you realize quickly that the project is really hefty alone and not being a native speaker. But since there are people that could help out since timing is pretty much done (I noticed some tweaks that needed to be done here and there but still for the most part) and if people who can read/translate Korean can help out too with some of the parts that I can't really hear from the raw or understand too well (yay kyosak haha)

So then, tianj has all the korean subs, so if people interested in translating the korean or just know japanese, you could pm me or tianj their email addresses or aim sns so that we could talk easier about the project rather than slower on the forums.

I always say be very careful using subs other than the original Japanese to translate anything. Some of the worst fansubs ive ever seen have come from Korean subs. If your using korean subs ya should always make sure that someone who understands some Japanese watches it b4 your release it to make sure that its actually waht theyre saying not a translation of a miss translation or mininterpertation. Smile

same question here, is anyone actually doing the subs for this great drama? as i tought armaniboi wants to do it, but there has'nt been any words from him for quite a long time. Just hoping some group or dedicated individual will take this project up, it has great casts and a pretty good storyline, not like most of the lovey-dovey dramas u see popping out every now and then.
