Culture Notes
Episode A
-We left all the Japanese prefixes because we thought it adds an extra little touch of character development.
-Notice several cameos of actors who played main characters in Kudokan's other dramas (Kisarazu Cat's Eye, Ikebukuro West Gate Park, etc) and notice the cameo of Shigeru Joshima, the leader of TOKIO (Matsuoka's band).
-"2 Hour Drama Special" - A one time drama special usually is a much more low budget than a full fledged drama, hence, Chikura's outrage.

Episode B
-The prefix "-yan" is a cutesy, nickname-ish type of prefix.
-We translated 'announcer' as 'anchorwoman' but I just wanted to clarify that an announcer in Japanese TV is something there really isn't an equivalent of in the US because many shows require a sort of narrator and that is what announcers do.
-Onsen town: An onsen is a hot spring and they are usually found in the countryside, therefore an onsen town would be a rural little town.
-Music: I love 80s jpop and this show is filled with it. Besshie dances to Judy Ongg's "Miserarete" (A Taiwanese crossover in the same vein as Agnes Chan. Does anyone have this mp3?) Shinobu rocks out to X-Japan's "X" (80s japanese hair metal breakthrough band) and Akabane's favorite song is Seiko Matsuda's "Akai Sweet Pea" (I would probably compare her to Madonna? Immensely popular in the 80s, broke many hearts and is now featured on gay interest magazines.)

Episode C
-The owner refers to two weddings in this episode. The first is a sumo wrester's, so I decided to keep it as is, but the second is a comedian, but I decided to replace it with an American celebrity wedding circa 1995 to make things easier.

Awesome! I was working on subbing this at some point, but never got around to finishing it.

I've really enjoyed watching it so far, but I haven't been able to get episode 6 and on due to lack of seeders.

Some trivia: the songs that Akabane-san sings in this episode are Hirota Mieko's "Ningyou no Ie" and Matsuda Seiko's "Akai Sweet Pea."
