I was thinking, back in the days when I watched Anime all the time, I would keep this addiction of mine from friends, family or workmates, somewhat embarrassed. If the topic arose of what were my hobbies, I'd try to make something up!

Every since the switch to drama, I noticed I proudly enjoy admitting I have what would seem to other people as a weird liking to something they don't know about. I don't know if it's because nobody knows what I'm talking about, or there's no misconeptions of drama yet in the mainstream.

So, when someone asks you what you do in your spare time, do you proudly say you watch asian dramas. Or you mumble and think of something better? I even clarify that I like the romantic ones better, and I'm a guy! Laugh

I proudly say it. Drama has been a big part of my life recently. Especially J-dorama.

If it wasn't for Jdoramas, I wouldn't have gotten to watch many good series, gotten to see good actors and actresses, and wouldn't have anything to practice my japanese.

Well to me I have always been proud of my addiction to Anime, even now I am addicted. When I got into doramas, at first I thought I wouldn't be addicted but as time went by I became addicted.

sidenote: The word "embarrassed" doesn't tmean a thing to me.hehehe

I'm not embarrassed to say I'm addicted to anime, or drama. My friends all know I'm crazy about both, and that's just how I am. Laugh It's just something that they know I just love to watch. Smile

LMAO. Are you saying you can't have a life if you watch anime/dramas? LOL

Well.. I don't proudly say it, nor am I embarrassed by it. But all my friends and family and... well everyone who knows me, knows that I watch dramas and that I'm obsessed with Korea. LOL. But then again, everyone also knows I'm fickle and I have many obsessions, so I guess they believed it won't last more than a year (at most) which is true since I have now moved on to Japan. Big Smile

Currently have a roomie who is studying English before taking on some quite high flying plans of studies that requires being fluent in English.

Needless to say, he's been complaining a lot lately about probably knowing better Japanese after his stay with me Doh!

Well, well, I finally got through though. He asked me to get him a copy of "Ai no Uta" yesterday and he says it might at least help improve his reading English in the sub titles Whistling

So I guess I'm one of the proud ones pinch

For me its a mixture of both. Only some of my closest friends and family know of my addiction and tease me unmercilessly about it as they say I don't watch anything without subtitles anymore, have conversation or hobbies that revolve around anything else, and even now only receive mail in foreign languages. Though its true, I'm not quick to mention any of this to other people as even when I make only slight references to things I watch, I get the weirdest looks. Laugh
