hmm they "gayest" drama ive seen is probably nobuta wo produce...i mean it was kinda akward between yamapi and kame...yamapi was always touching him and they even slept together...normal guys don't do that...although it was one of my favorite dramas i always had a feeling that they were gay...atleast it was hinted in the ending i think

hahaha.. that might be a little over-reading. i think the point of the drama is to show how shuji, a very popular guy at school but who actually doesn't have any REAL friends, inds a true friend from the person he hates most. Moreover, the title was Nobuta wo Produce... but in the end... it was Shuji was "produced," because he became a good person because of two people that changed his life. I'm very sure that there was no gay innuendo in this drama... at least that's what I think of.

I agree pinch It was more a show about friendship than about anything else.

Tongue Tongue

okay, that's a bit out of context, but Akira does seem to have some bisexual tendencies at least, i can't put it all down to cultural differences. even some of my Japanese friends said he was gay.

I agree >_> while the show itself wasn't gay (or gay enough to be called gay, everything ends up having gay moments pinch no matter the country of origin), but Akira was pretty off pinch Maybe he was just crazy. Maybe he was just flamboyant (this does happen o_O I have a friend at school who is straight but he acts SO GAY). But he's just a little more gay than your normal Japanese teenager.

Yay~ So many titles. 8D *wrote them all down* Now if only they all had English subtitles so I could actually understand them -- provided I find a place to download them in the first place. pinch

Formula 17 is sooo~ good! It's one of my favourite movies. Definitely a must-watch. Hilarious, yet romantic. ^_^

Nobuta wo Produce just has slashable characters, that's all (especially with the ending). Everyone should watch it regardless, though~ Akira's insane. pinch Wub

Ohh, I read that MARS has a gay character, but I haven't actually been able to see him since there hasn't been any seeders for episode 2+ for months. D:

Uwa! I watched that clip from Ningen Shikkaku with KinKi Kids, but... Aren't they brothers in real life? Didn't that weird them out filming it? pinch

I find it to be a very likely possibility that Shuji and Akira were both gay or at least interested in each other a little bit in that way.

Shuji never showed any interest in any woman throughout the show and he was very much in tune with his feminine side. Akira was a lot like a campy gay friend of mine, what with always sitting in Shuji's lap and thelike. I know Japanese guys are different, but I have to see one a straight guy as campy as Akira, Japanese or otherwise.

I thought it was also somewhat telling that everything pointed to Nobuta having a crush on Shuji midway through the show (the whole tape incident thing), but that her crush simply faded away over the next few episodes. Bad storytelling or did Nobuta realise she couldn't have him because Shuji was so blatantly not interested in women?

There is definitely boy love subtext.

Oh, oh! How could I forget? In Gachibaka! there's Gondou's best friend, Shinobu, who is very obviously gay, and he also obviously has a romantic interest in Gondou. I loved him. pinch In one of the episodes the two of them went to a bathhouse and -- well, watch it. I died laughing. pinch

I don't know if these have been said before but some good movies are:

Bishonen
Bungee Jumping Of Their Own
Edge of Seventeen
Enter the Phoenix
Farewell My Concubine
Fifteen (Royston Tan) "Not really but there is are certain scenes"
Formula 17
Like Grains of Sand
Lanyu

All the dramas I know have already been said.

Sorry, off topic for a sec, but who's the person in Kirari's icon? Is that a girl or a guy?
