| It looks like the timed script that results when I sub an episode using DivXLand Subtitler. The resulting file is .sub. _________________ Upcoming Publications:

| It's a subtitle format and also a player designed with ripped movies in mind (i.e. .avi). Do you know the extension of the file?

I think awrittensin is right. The format is frame-based rather than time-based.
Usually you need to specify the movie framerate when you open such a file.

Like k_fan said it is the old MicroDVDPlayer subtitle format (aka .sub files).
You can convert it easily to .srt with many subtitle tools (e.g. SubtitleWorkshop).
P.S. If you're asked for a framerate then try either 23.97fps (NTSC standard / usually R1 movie DVDs) , 29.97fps (NTSC standard / usually TV material), or 25fps (PAL standard / usually R2 DVDs / both movie and TV content)
