Hello,
hope this the right place to put my request into.
Currently I am uploading Hua Xiang which is a mini Drama and the continous story of Lavender. It deals about 2 years later after the death of Yi Xun. Leo (Amrose Hsu) is still thinking about his love. A mysterious woman tells him to go to ...(forgot the places name) where he will be able to see his beloved once again. At the airport he loses his Lavender bottle. A girl (Rainie Yang) helps him to find it again.

this drama only consists of 3 episodes + 1 special. each is only about 25-30 minutes long. I was thinking about subbing it myself but my Chinese is not so good that I could understand each and single word, so I could need a hand there. I think I might be able to translate some parts of it so I need someone to fill in the blanks I am going to leave. And I need a timer. Please PM if you want to help.

I put the first episodes links direct dl here http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=31340
aNToK is so kind to seed the episodes as torrents in the next couple of days 'cause my ul is too slow for that.

thank you,I love LAVENDER,and Ambrose is one of my favourite actors. I have seen Lavender with Eng sub, I have seen also the second part Umentioned above.but it was in Chinese, I could not understand, only guessed .

I hope that U can finish the sub soon. Sorry, I can not help with translating, even I do really want to.

Good luck, hope that other fans of Ambrose will give us a hand

@closet_queen
just PMed you, thanks for you offer to help

@Gi-Ma-Mi
wow you are offering to help? That's pretty cool. I am not so sure if hardsubs are really needed? are they? I mean I was always pretty satisfied with softsubs. But if it's required and you want to do it go for it.
Oh, aNToK wants to optimize the video of the drama when we finish translating. So maybe you should wait with the hardsubs (if you are going to do them) until this version is seeded.

ok guys. I translated about 70% of the first episode. But there are still some blanks which I simply cannot fill in + my translation might be strange sometimes 'cause I am not a native English speaker ( as if you haven't realized it yet). So another translator would be nice.

for us, softsubs are fine but for some newbies, they always ask quetions like how to view sub, how to add subs...without any reading Glare , if you have a chance to scan through some pages of any subtitle thread, you'll see what i meant

I already realized that,too. But I am often surpirsed how many there are. I mean at the beginning when I was a newbie (been one only 3 months ago) I read a lot of these questions but also the answers. That's how I knew what to do. And there are the FAQs. I still ask a lot of silly questions but nothing like that. Haha, there are also often people who ask this question and it was just answered two posts above + they say they'd read the FAQS. yeah sure they do.

if you only want to do hard softs for newbies I would say leave it if that's more work than doing soft subs. If you want to do it beacause you think it'll be easier to burn and watch it on TV than go for it. Do whatever you like to.

seams like the quote button is not fixed yet

Edit: Going to get the 70% of the translation up to 90%) Help would be still very appreciated.

ok, if you want to why not. Then closet_queen can do the soft subs and you are doing the hardsubs? sorry, never timed sth before, so don't know where the difference between doing hard and soft subs lies. or is it better you work out soft subs and hard subs for one episode? and closet_queen is working on another episode and you use her srt?
Btw. aNToK said she might be able to cut out the original Chinese subs and put the English subs instead. So if we are doing hardsubs it might be better to talk with aNToK first.

Edit: just talked with aNToK. we only need soft subs right now. going to PM you the explanation later.

haha, I thought that, too. but since I never timed sth before... you never know. It also would have been possible that closet_queen times the thing at first and you'll simply copy and paste and do whatever you have to do to convert soft sub into hard sub Laugh

80% of the first episode is done. Having to translate the questionmarks now. Do you think people would mind if they had to learn German Big Smile ? There are some phrases of which I know the meaning but don't know how to put it into English. But anyway already found some people who said they will correct my English grammar mistakes. (good luck guys Whistling )

I am a German born Taiwanese. You can say I am a GBT but that doesn't sound as good as ABC. So I am not a native English speaker that's why translating sth into English can sometimes become really tough.
Do we really need a subtitle thread? Hmmm... maybe? Not sure about it. Can't we just put the subs into the thread were I ul the first episodes? Or can we create a subtitle thread and ask the mods to transfer the other thread into it? I don't want to have too many threads for this 4 episodes. (and I guess the mods will agree with me)
