thank goodness you made a new thread.
those comments at your web blog were getting a little out of hand.
but as a fansubber myself, i must say that people do not really understand the term, "FANWORK".
there are absolutely no deadlines, yet the fansubbing group that i am part of does try to release as much subs as we can when we have free time so that other fans can enjoy the dramas that we are subbing.
although im a very young person compared to other fansubbers in the group
and may have more spare time than them,
our older fansubbers somehow manage to release much more subs than you do when they have work and their personal life.
but of course, every person's schedule is different, so yours may be busier than theirs.
but im wondering... are the releases for CWL slow because SUBlimes does not have enough staff or because of the rude comments?
if in fact it's because of the rude comments, please think of the fans that are patiently waiting for your subs, such as myself.
if the answer is neither of the two, then please explain the reason WHY the releases are so slow.
im not trying to be rude, im trying to find out WHY it's slow.
also, i think SUBlimes should try to learn to accept some criticism,
since we all know that there are inconsiderate people out there who WILL criticize you some time or another. im sure evey fansubbing group has dealt with that before.
although some of the comments were absolute ridiculous,
i believe some were very true.

I don't think that was criticism.... it seemed more like harassment to me.
I normally laugh and make fun of complainers because they are pathetic, but even I think there is a limit to what a fansubber should be forced to take for their VOLUNTEER work.
Those who really want to watch it can wait patiently. From what I understand of the comments the staff made on the blog, they are still working on it but they wont release any episodes until it's all complete.
I'm just thankful they are finishing at all, because Alan's much cuter when I can understand the words coming out of his mouth. Don't care how long it takes. They still are doing it faster than the Chinese companies (because hey don't translate their dramas) and with better quality then the bootleggers.

I was at Sublime's blog and was skimming through the comments and these two comment caught my attention. I just HAVE to reply.

The truth is they are painfully slow. That's why they were getting negative comments. I am not watching CWL so this doesn't affect me directly but my heart broke when I heard you'd chosen to sub Romantic Princess (thus preventing another willing group from picking it up) because judging from your history with this show and others, it will take you ages to sub it. Yes, we like quality subs but other subgroups manage to provide them in a timely fashion. Please leave the subbing to other groups who understand what humility and efficiency entail.

Whoever the fcuk wrote that, go do a little more research on Sublimes. And if you never watch their subbed dramas before, go watch them. They freaking do research for everything in order to translate it correctly into English in order for the fans to understand. Starting from the old Chinese sayings to slangs and EVERY SINGLE FCUKING THING. Your comment makes me furious because you don’t have any clue and you’re doubting them that they “at most, they’ve finished episode 9.” What the crap do you have to doubt that? They haven’t release in months but that doesn’t mean they’re giving up on the project. And they are painfully SLOW? Why don’t you fcuking start your own group and sub dramas while all your school life or job is surrounding you?

And you clearly know that it’s a hobby so stop complaining it because it’s THEIR hobby. Nothing related to you.

Oh yeah? Sublimes is not JUST SUBBING. They have the one of the best quality subs out there. And like I stated before, they do RESEARCH for their subs, instead of “just subbing”. And stop telling them to be mature if you cannot be mature yourself with the rude comment. You have no right to point them out as a not efficient group because if they’re not, then how did they complete those other dramas? Other groups are free to pick WHATEVER dramas they like to sub and Sublimes has the same right so you have no right to tell them to pick what dramas or to not pick what dramas. And if you want to enjoy your “shows” then go watch the dramas raw and interpret your own subs rather than watching Sublimes’ subbed dramas. If you care so much about “timely fashion” subs then go watch the other groups’ subs and ignore Sublimes’ quality subs. It is Sublimes’ choice to pick Romantic Princess, even if it is preventing other group to sub it.

And who are you to judge that Sublimes doesn’t “understand what humility and efficiency” is? If they are so immature then they would’ve just cuss back at those rude comments rather keeping quiet or responding without foul words.

HanaKimi was taken a couple of other groups but the subs weren’t subbed that well (at least from the group that I saw it from) and since Sublimes started subbing on HanaKimi it is immature and irresponsible for them to stop subbing it. One person was saying that Sublimes is not responsible,etc. so why do you want them to drop HanaKimi if doing that act makes them immature and not responsible? And if it their choice if they want to leave the drama hanging. Personally, I’m a fan of dramas like you all are. I would be disappointed if they leave it hanging but there is nothing I can do about it and there is no use leaving them negative comments. And we are all mature and we know that rude comments are not worth it but who can control your emotions and feelings, especially anger and unhappiness? If we are able to control our emotions then there won’t be so many suicides or murders or rapes or... falling in love, are there? You don’t know how it feels like if you’re not them. Maybe someone criticize you right now and you probably say, oh I know how to handle it but it’s just saying. It didn’t even happen to you yet so you can’t judge HOW you’re going to react. And even a few negative insults are maddening, not to mention more than a few. Anger is a stronger emotion than happiness or cheerfulness. They can’t help it if they have the need to leave fans hanging or go on haitus for the drama. I’m also watching CWL and it’s really disappointing to see them stop subbing it for now but there is nothing I can do and it won’t help to insult them or tell them to grow up. And no, nobody begged them to sub it. They chose to sub it and it’s their decision but if they want to stop subbing it for right now it’s also their decision. And why is it their responsibility to complete them when it’s a fansub? It’s not like they’re working for the fans and getting paid or some company. Things are overwhelming when they decide to take up a new project, especially with their busy lives going on. And I agree with you on them to state that they are not continuing to sub CWL but... who says that they’re not? If they want to drop it, they would inform us, like how they dropped Silence. They didn’t leave people hanging without a confirmed status. And I don’t think that Sublimes is selfish. They never said that other groups can’t take this project. They never threatened any group to NOT take this project. Any group is free to take up this project.
Although I did cuss at the first quoted reply, it was out of anger. I just can’t believe that some fans are so inconsiderate when it comes to fansubbing. I mean, aren’t we all disappointed when I group decide to leave us hanging in the middle of a drama? But what can we do with insults and rude comments? Nothing. There is really no point it bashing at each other like this. I mean, I’m also watching CWL and seriously, I’m waiting for the subs like all of you guys. All the rude comments are nothing compared to the positive comments but as I stated before, we cannot control our emotions and feelings. If we feel mad then we have an impulse to do things that would probably anger other people. I think some of the rude fans should be more considerate. If you guys are unhappy with Sublimes’ work and pace then I suggest you go find another group that is subbing other dramas that you like or sub your own dramas. It’s not THAT hard to sub a drama since some people are saying that Sublimes’ suck at subbing. Oh yeah, it’s very easy to sub. Just translate some things, time it, code it, yadadada and viola, you’re done subbing. Oh yay, you can release a new episode now, unlike Sublimes, they’re sooooo freaking sloww! Blah blah blah.
Anyway, I just have to express my anger and emotions. It’s so disappointing to see a fansub group being bashed at when they’re taking the time of their lives to provide such great quality subs.
