I have no problem with the sub... it work fine with the video... |
I had a problem too, but it's working now. Open the subs, save as, under ENCODING - change UTF-8 to ANSI.

Your encouragements and/or comments are invaluable to KST as a whole, and we sincerely thank you. Everything must have a small beginning, and to us, yesterday was a new beginning, and you were a wonderous part of that special moment in time for us.
With that said, however, at this time, we have a sad announcement to make. It is with a heart full of regrets that CICHLID of KST is here today to advise you of our decision to drop the English Subbing Project for the two dramas: Hong Gil Dong and Robbers. These two dramas are very close and dear to our hearts, because they are in essence our "first children" and we would love to be able to pursuing the English subbing for these two series, but due to the close friendship and out of respects for WITHS2, KST will leave the Hong Gil Dong and Robbers in their capable hands. Despite our previous announcement and proposal of alliance with Mily2 and WITHS2, but in view of the new announcement recently released by WITHS2 and their two year anniversary landmark, friendship and repects aside, yielding the floor to WITHS2 at this time seems appropriate and in line with our main interest, make friends not war along the journey of providing quality subtitles to Korean dramas' fans worldwide.
KST and CICHLID will return in the very near future with another English subtitle project. In view of this unfortunate event, the next English subbing project by KST will be announce way in advance to prevent duplication of efforts, as well as avoiding any future conflicts with any other English subbing groups. As we see it, the more the merrier and each of the subbing group is unique in their own way, and the viewers will benefit directly from any healthy, friendly rivalry. Agree? Once again, thank you for all your show of supports thus far. Please continue to watch for KST and keep us in your heart, we are counting on your supports in the near future for our next Project.
Respectfully yours,
From all of us at CICHLID |
Well I do think You've made a good decision ^^ WITH S2 is already providing Good quality subs but even though they CAN'T sub every good Korean dramas out there so you're more than welcome. For instance, I heard lots of praises for the K Drama White Tower which was aired last year. I tried to watch it with engrish subs since WITH S2 hadn't taken it as a project and it was simply unbearable so I gave up despite my interest.
I'm sure you're gonna do a very good work but subbing kdramas takes time and lots of effort so again I'm supporting your decision in giving up these two projects simply because maybe if WITH S2 provided crappy releases it would be worth reworking on it but there's actually no need, it's way better that you give time and effort on projects not already taken that does deserve a little bit of attention.
I wish your team a long long very long life and hope to see your upcoming projects soon ^^
Welcome to the Korean subbing community and THANK YOU!!! |
I totally agree with Deedlith... There are plenty of drama that Withs2 and other group havent sub yet, so it would be great if you guys decide to sub those instead. ie, White Tower. But once again, welcome to our community and we hope to see more of your subs in the near future! |
or even 'the king and i'. as someone made an half arsed attempt at subbing it, but gave up after 12 episodes

I have to say that your subs are more precise compared to WITHS2s but at the same time - the grammar is really off - I wish you best of luck in your future projects. I don't think it's a problem to sub whatever someone else is subbing besides the problem of spending time on only one drama when I guess two dramas could be subbed in the same time.
Hope to see you guys around. _________________ 사랑한다 연세 || APPRECIATE LIFE || 열심히해야지

it's refreshing to see two fangroups cooperating and not angrily competing.
MoerkJ created a program that attempts to update our 'subtitle index list', so if you deviate from the format (like using [ EngSubs]), it may not include it. i edited the title. it should show up.
best of luck to both groups and thanks for contributing._________________ Use THUMBS UP/DOWN buttons to KEEP or DELETE posts.

| I'm very glad to hear that there is a new group subbing korean dramas. I hope you won't try to compete with each other but rather sub different dramas so we will have more to enjoy. Good luck

Out of interest as a korean language learner who would like to see more people learning korean by doing kdrama fansub, as in the case of more popular jdrama, i also would like to hear the answer of this question. Do you translate directly from korean, or from vietnamese or from chinese? I see that someone said that yours is more accurate. I'm not trying to judge or suggesting anything, just curious.
Thank you and welcome. _________________ Yangshun: Ajossi, the early bird catches the worm

I'm also wondering as well. I'm personally viet and can speak and write Viet, English and a lil bit of Chinese, so I want to know which you're translating from.
As for which subs are better, I think that doesn't it depend on your own tastes? Furthermore, sometimes a group opts for more literal, but another opts for an english equivalent. Or someone leaves it accurate but not flowing nicely while another changes it a bit (word order, ect ect.) so that it would translate better into English. All groups have their reasons for why they translate as they do.
