I think Juri has the distinction of being the only one that would be able to turn both females and males gay after Last Friends...lol~ whatever that means... ;)

The many reasons why we love Ueno Juri. Right. There.
And check out the graph if you need more convincing...
Thank you, Yuuki! *still reading*
Haha... are we sure Juri doesn't read d-addicts? I'm pretty sure I've heard someone say that Juri is scary... lol'
**EDIT** LOL' I just read! Juri's so funny!

Now, there are even roles like Nodame, and because of that, even someone like me is able to be one(laughs).

Lol~ Nah, Juri isn't scary unless she wants to be. Haha. And she's such a modest person 'even someone like me can be an actress', well of course~ People look for more than just beauty this days. And Juri has both. Beauty and talent~ =D

I saw the GuGu interview in the LJ last night, LOL' Looks like a good movie... I mean, interesting. I'm usually not into Juri's film choices much (I mean, Kung Fu Kun is not a movie I'm usually watching) - But GuGu actually interests me xD.

^^ oh, you're missing out on Osen and Camouflage... though Camouflage is pretty er... not commercial. It's good.
I've been considering watching both of those, but I haven't read enough about them to finally decide to download and watch them. Still busy going through the Ozu-Naruse-Mizoguchi era as well, leaving little HD space for other things.

Though not exactly a big fan, I like her. She's charming. And having worked together with Juri twice(right?), she's got extra points~
I finally watched KameHaya a couple of weeks ago and it was a rather...quirky piece of work. As nonsensical and stupid it is most of the time, there's a brilliance in it as well though I can't really point a finger at any part...There's a great message to it too though I haven't exactly figure it out...yet...heheh. In short, yeah, I like it. Don't hold it against me yeah? Juri also agreed during the film's premiere that though it's a 'kudaranai eiga', it's still got its own charm to it and is meant to make people laugh and forget about their worries for awhile. But I agree that not everyone would find it funny. Probably only those that understand Japanese humor. ^^;

she looks so pretty at the premiere of GuGu.
does anyone know where i can watch the award show where she won best supporting actress???
No actual red carpet type of award ceremony for it as far as I know. They just go and meet the winners, present the prize, take pics and vids and have an interview with them. You can watch the clip for Juri's part at the official blog here:
http://blog.television.co.jp/drama/academy/2008/08/post_304.html
Juri's votes was around 3 times more than the 2nd place winner. ^^ And from the interview excerpt below there, looks like the very short hair cut was Juri's idea. It was actually just supposed to be short and didn't specifically mentioned that it should be a boyish cut I think. The director got a shock and was kinda upset when Juri went on set with that hair and it wasn't until they finished filming that he was converted and agreed that it was a good idea. Heh. And it seemed like Juri was having a cold when they had this interview. But she still smiled and chatted a lot. They also praised her ability to be able to portray characters that are so different from each other, Nodame, Ruka, etc. and is looking forward to her future roles. =) Haha, I think everyone is.

I think one of the messages was to enjoy your life from day to day and to not overstep your bounds for (false) excitement...
It's a really quirky comedy and I enjoy more and more after each subsequent viewing.
Woahhh....!!!
(Also, note that the guy in the screencap played her dad in Nodame... )
