My Japanese is also very limited, but I got through season 1 and trying to understand season 2 using a few Japanese phrases plus context clues.. I even end up watching the episodes more than twice. Lucky for us, rokonoko's been uploading the Japanese subs. I usually use two online translation engines, read the translations, then watch again. So far it's working, at least for me.
Anyway, we're about halfway through the series. I've been hoping that they'll lose a case in one of the episodes (though I highly doubt this would happen). I'd love to see how they'd handle it.
I noticed that they changed some aspects of the show. Like now, they don't show the convicted person being led away in cuffs. And the personalities: Maki is a little more serious and Taeko seems to have lightened up,but yeah, she's still grumpy. Haha.
Ok, so I knew I had to react when I saw the last scene from episode 10 (I did not see the preview because KeyHole hung up on me).I better put this in the spoiler tag for those who haven't seen episode 10:

Looks really interesting, not only because the storyline deals with the character being played by one of my favorites ( Taeko was the best choice to put in that kind of situation, IMHO) ; I think it's a great change of pace at long last. It's the next best thing to the scenario I was hoping for (the 7 Women Lawyers losing a case). It might actually be better because protecting one of your own is an even greater challenge.
Any theories?

One of the biggest clues right now is this photo from the Official Site's news section, which was obviously taken during filming. There's one more episode left so this is undoubtedly from the finale. Just look at what they are wearing.
I actually feel more for the characters this time compared to the last season. Better chemistry among the seven women is one thing. Then that incident in the last scene made me care even more.

I watched the 12 June ep when I was in Japan. I've seen all but 2 episodes but that ep was really something so I finally registered here.
ETA: Oops, sorry. I did not see the spoiler tag.

What would happen to Iijima because of the guilty plea? Do you think she really did it? I can't see why she would admit guilt. She would only cause problems to her lawyer friends. I just do not get it.

First of all, welcome to the forum!

If the translations I got were highly accurate, I'd agree that she's trying to cover up a "dark past"--going to trial might reveal loads of skeletons in her closet (remember how the character is always described as "mysterious"). I got a feeling that it's more than that. I don't think that she committed the crime though (aside from the "past" angle) she might also be feeling guilty over the money she lent the victim...something like that. Well, Taeko is a brilliant lawyer. I have a feeling there's something up her sleeve. It's risky, but I think (and hope) that she has a clear-cut plan to get out of this mess. We'll see.

Thanks, Mocha Valencia! You sound like you know Ijima too well. ^points to avatar and sig^
I am also thinking of different scenarios. You are right it's a mess.
By the way, anyone has ideas why the torrents are taking too long? I am waiting for the latest, but it's been days and I don't see it yet. Till next time
add: nevermind, I PM'd the uploader... hehe..
add#2: Mocha Valencia, please check your PMs too. Thanks

Well, I've been watching her for two seasons now, maybe that's it. And it's also a factor that Taeko Ijima is Sachie Hara.

Wow, I just realized how lonely this thread is.
The torrent is up now. I think it's the uploading ban in Japan that's keeping gryzze from uploading the episodes quickly. But gryzze is one great uploader, you really should trust him with this.
You're right with the "lonely" part. From the looks of things, you might think that the series doesn't have a good following. But hey, check out how many people download. And you'll be surprised at how active BBS posters are. The forums are in Japanese though.

The torrent for the finale episode is up!
I actually watched the whole thing on Keyhole last Thursday, but I wanted to wait for the torrent before I comment.
I wanted to comment without giving away some details. But since I can't help it...

The episode 10 and the finale actually looked like one SP, at least to me. There were things that happened in those two episodes which I did not see even the the first season. First, I actually liked the part where the chief finally got to act like one. Then we finally see all seven lawyers in one courtroom. And I think the most pressing point is that the final case was not only Taeko's trial, but (cheesy as it may sound) a test of the seven woman lawyers' friendship. But man, the situation the writers put Taeko into was so sad (I'm not even talking about getting arrested), I wanted to reach out to hug her and comfort her (I'm glad she stood up during the trial. It would be so out of character if she didn't.). It was definitely a different side of the grumpy (but obviously my favorite) lawyer. But one thing's for sure, she really has bad luck with men. Oh well. Anyway, I was kind of hoping that Taeko would be the one to do the Nokosareta kotae wa, hitotsu desu stance, but yeah, that's Maki's trademark, so there.
For some reason, I can smell a third season... But the Season 2 finale would be hard to top.

Is there any possibility that Season 1 and 2 can be uploaded online for leeching/streaming? Due to the virus scare such as the recent one, Conficker, I've been very wary about downloading stuff.

Update your PC with the latest updates - and keep those updates up-to-date. That's all you have to do!
