last vote, someone directly influenced the result by promising to upload a series if people voted for the series he wanted. now people are giving sources to other series in the poll; well if 60 people jump on that moto kare torrent, it's not going to be so well seeded
let people vote for what they want; i mean, it's fine to say you like a series and why you like it, but intentionally saying things to decrease the chances of other series winning is unfortunate
oh, well, either way, i'll dl which ever one wins, as it's nice to have the series download quickly... |
I hope this comment is not directed at me. I don't care whatsoever which drama wins. I have them all already. My comment was from the other day when Moto Kare looks like it wasn't gonna win so I was giving people who voted for it to have a chance to download it if they wanted the better hardsub version. I never mentioned which you should/should not vote for. Besides, it is perfectly acceptable to swing the poll in your favor by promising this or that or giving people alternatives. The only illegal way to swing the poll is if you have multiple accounts and vote multiple times.
If you want Moto Kare that badly, PM me your address(if in USA) and I'll send you the DVD w/ the version that's on the poll right now. I was gonna toss it away anyways b/c I prefer the JTV version. That way you can have it right away and then help seed also if it wins.
You can also have all of the following series if you want free of charge. I'll even pay the S/H since I was gonna throw them away anyways. I always keep the better quality ones and sometimes mistakenly make multiple copies:
Star no Koi (accidently burnt 2 copies)
Trick Season 1 (non DVD rip version)
Hero (JEM version)
Trick Season 2 (non DVD rip version)
The King's Restaurant (Non DVD rip version)
H2 (accidently burnt 2 copies)
Gokusen 2 (not SARS hardsub version which I liked better)
Majo no Jouken aka Forbidden Love (not the NYA! version)
Moto Kare (Soft sub version)
Attack No 1 (Not the JTV version)
Aishiteiru to Ittekure aka Say You Love Me (not the A.D Clan version)

"It's a dog-eat-dog world. And I'm wearing my Milkbone underwear." -- Norm @ Cheers
Since Day 1, the SoTW has ALWAYS been a "who can speak the loudest wins" event. No holds barred, people! I haven't seen it lately, but early on we used to spread our propaganda across the various drama topics, trying to organize people to vote for THEIR choice. If you feel strongly about a particular show, it is by design of SoTW that you use whatever means to influence others to vote your way. I wanted a series seeded because I didn't have it, so I offered an incentive. That's how the game is played!

One other thing... The reason people mentioned the JTV torrent for Moto Kare is that the logic of voting for a specific drama despite the torrents already being seeded well is a total waste. The reason for even coming up with the four choices is lack of seeding ANYWHERE - whether it is D-Addicts, JEM, JTV or whatever tracker there is. If JTV's torrents were already being seeded, then IMHO Moto Kare should not have even been a choice to begin with. The whole philosophy of SoTW is to encourage seeding of dead torrents, and NOT to increase seeding for torrents that already had seeding.

| I only pick shows in the JSoTW Volunteer Seeders thread. The JTV version of Moto Kare has no volunteer seeders and does not qualify for the JSoTW. The softsub version is on the list and did not have any seeds when the poll started. _________________ ...

Two things here. First, the renzoku list linked is over one year old. The volunteers you see listed there are probably not even around anymore. There were several winners that were not seeded post-voting, and the age and accuracy of the list is the reason why. The JSoTW should be PM'ing these people to re-assess the volunteer pool. You may find that many of them won't respond.
Second, JTV should be a part of JSoTW. JEM is already on the list of trackers. I understand that the reason for JEM being on it is that Ruroshin took over his tracker. But again, that was over one year ago. JTV has since then been moving many of its torrents over to D-Addicts' tracker. Just take a look at Kamui6's uploads to D-Addicts:
http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/torrents.php?search=kamui6&type=upload+by
The JSoTW committee should update not only update the renzoku list, but also update the trackers it covers. Check with Kamui6 and see if her fansub group is interested in participating.

Since I started doing the JSoTW I have not seen any series go unseeded after winning. I know nothing about JSoTWs prior to that. The list of volunteer seeders is indeed outdated in the sense of removing inactive members. However, from what I've seen, there are still enough members that will seed listed episodes.
PMing the volunteers for each series would be a difficult task. The easiest way to keep the list updated would be through a php script (checking for last login). Considering my opinion that there has not been a series that has gone unseeded after winning, I do not believe it is a priority.
While it would be great for JTV to be a part of the JSoTW, I do not feel that I should be recruiting them. Instead, they should be allowed to volunteer as volunteer seeders. _________________ ...

But is Kamui6 aware that she's even allowed to be on JSoTW? Because as long as I've been on D-Addict, I didn't know until you just mentioned it. That's my point.

I would assume so, yes.

Currently, we have aznV.net's, Jem's and JTV's permission to include their torrents in the "Series of the...". |
Is that what you mean? _________________ ...

Ah, cool! I did not know that. I was under the impression that JTV once told us not to because it would increase the load on their tracker which they wouldn't be able to handle. But then again my information is several years old.
