There is a link to a BitTorrent stream for the TV-Nihon hard-subs at http://www.boxtorrents.com/details.php?id=11505
The statistics on the page indicate that even though the torrent is over three
years old, there is still activity on it, but I'm sure it will take some time to get all
11 GB. I downloaded and watched it about a year ago - goofy fun, and they
made a bit more of an attempt for the plot to make sense than the anime did
(which is not to say they always succeeded).

can i just say...
PGSM was the first japanese drama i ever watched, and by god one of the best
the actors are BRILLIANT although the fighting scenes are corny and is more like dancing
It gets better and better all the way through, and has really good songs in, all performed by
the main cast. I have the Ryuusei fansubbed ones, but i dont think theres much activity left at all on them
If you want to download this drama i would hurry up and do it quickly, because soon it will be gone forever.

This is the second time I've heard of a movie, but I've never seen any real info on a "movie".
Would it be the same as one of what are called the specials in the TVNhion subbed videos?

In my experience... yeah that's what people mean when they say movie.
I once saw a bunch of people talking about the Garo movie and I was like, what? Garo movie? Where? I want. 
But then I realized they were talking about the 2 hour White Night special.
Not really a movie but it's longer and a separate story so people tend to call them movies.

I was able to grab this off a Direct Download site years ago, but I can't remember which site I got it off from. (it was a great site, too! Not only was the Live-Action uploaded, but the entire Sailor Moon Anime saga was up on the server, too!)
However, you can find them uploaded onto MegaUpload (all 51 acts) at jdramas LJ community, Idols-Unlimited, and Silent-Regrets.
Unfortunately, I never got around to finishing this drama even though Shibue Jyoji was pretty hot (though there was actually one scene in it that somehow had me thinking he resembled a pig!  )
and off the record, the Garo specials were incredible! The drama left us all with an iffy ending and the White Fang specials gave us closure~ 
and plus, watching Konishi Hiroki/Ryousei (why did he change his name anyway??) in tight leather pants was a major plus!

I will die the day Shibby gets a role in a drama that isn't a side character. I've loved him since Sailor Moon.
And to be off topic with you...
The WHOLE Garo series was awesome. I loved Zero the most though. He was bad ass and a little bit emo.... but he did cute things like eat a mountain of cake and smile all goofy like. I got my friend addicted to the show because every time I watched it I would be chatting with her and start going on about hot boys in leather. lol
Rei and Konishi in those leather pants and sexy trench coats.... *fangirl squee*
