BEWARE!!!

I used to enjoy Kirin, Sapparo and Asahi beer here in L.A. at a premium price.
Then, a few years ago the taste changed for the worse.
These beers are now made in the USA or Canada under license.
They still charge a premium price as if they were still imported from Japan.
What a rip off.!

Sparky

Totally agree with Sparky. Here in Canada, Sapporo is brewed under license but, in restaurants, you pay through the nose for a large can. scratch

In Japan, I particularly enjoyed Yebisu as well as the seasonal specialty beers each brewery makes that you find in the grocery stores.

Orion is my choice.

You can sometimes find a variety of Kirin brewed in Japan still, around LA at least.

I've not found beer coming out of Japan for a while. They label it imported since it's coming out of Canada, but it's definitely not the same. The best beers (and sake for that matter), like the best electronics, never leave Japan unless you carry them out in your luggage.

Hai! Kanpai!
Have to go with Orion.
Best as a fresh draft, though.

Word! Orion is pimp.

Of course, when I was back in the states, I really wouldn't grab Japanese brand beer as it was just brewed somewhere in the states.

But... I love this one beer brewery not to far from my place... they have a great restaurant as well.

Though I’m only 19, my parents let me drink (wihin the household)。I am not a heavy drinker - very casual and only drink to a peak, not until im drunk. I like Kirin and Suntory brands, as those are the only ones I’ve been drinking, I tend to stay away from domestic beer, unless thats all that is available.
