Thanks for the feedback. It's nice to see people are still keeping up with this drama!
Just a heads-up, we'll be away on vacation for a week so the next episode will be delayed. Hang in there...we'll try to get back into the regular cycle as soon as we can.

Thanks a lot for ep07, OfficeMasao. And I agree with you, it's quite hard to see that this episode was written by someone else. But it was a very good one nevertheless.

Actually, a few things struck me as unusual, but it could have been my imagination. The idea of Motoko renting a car and the characters going outside of Tokyo was unexpected. I can't explain why, but it just felt out of place to me. Also, the professor's comments about having "it" cut off in Casablanca really jumped out.
Then again, the show's often full of randomness so who knows? You get a bit sensitive after analyzing every line of a series so closely!
--"moon and turtle" - refers to two things that are similar, yet completely different. the moon and a turtle are both round, but otherwise in completely different leagues.
--koraboshi - "sunbathing" is written with the characters "turtle shell" and "dry". (Mamada wonders how a turtle could get heatstroke.)

Thanks OfficeMasao. I've just grabbed episode 8 subs, looking forward to watching the epi with your subs.
Thanks for sticking with this project, it's a jem.
Clackers, oh the fun that could be had before the health and safety brigade stepped in.
But not quite as dangerous as the first world war toy, when you could build and blow up a model trench.

Subs for ep9 are up. One more to go!
Notes:
-- Kizuna-chan hums "Maimu Maimu" (Mayim), an Israeli folk dance song. (I've never heard of it, but apparently many Japanese have and know the dance)
-- after attending a funeral in Japan it's common to throw salt over yourself before returning home. (for purification.) here are some other superstitions/beliefs

OfficeMasao,
First of all, thanks so much for doing this show -- and doing it so darn professionally too!
I've only seen up through Ep 5 so far (I'm savoring it little by little) so I'm trying to be careful not to read the spoilers here, but even though I've only just finished #5, I wanted to say thanks again for doing this show. I really love its charm and quirkiness.
Just wondering... have you subtitled any other shows? Your subs are just so completely professional, I'm curious if you've taken on any other projects in the past (or plans for any in the future). Anyway, I'll be watching this little by little until the end... just wanted to say thanks!
