Really you thought is was mediocre??? Thats strange. I thought the second episode was just as good as the first. I still think this will be the most slept on drama this season.... I will wait on the subs to comment on the story, but I laughed so much on physical humor.
I'm a casual drama watcher at best, so I might miss the things that make it mediocre, but I really liked the second episode. Plus its the first "light" school drama I've seen, most are serious, it feels good seeing them have so much fun, and be cute little boys and girls

Having just finish watch 'Island Times', I was little surprise to see both of the main actor and actress from that movie in this show. It doesn't look like they will pair up this show. Wonder if Naka Riisa's character will play the piano in this show. Her character is complete opposite from the movie. While Yanagisawa Daisuke's character looks pretty much like the shy character from the movie.

I thought the 1st episode was better than the 2nd one but the 2nd one wasn't that bad. I still enjoyed it and that's all that matters to me. I liked Toumu at first but Hitomi is starting to grow on me. She is always asking questions to make trouble for Kazuki and that reminds me of me ^_^ I can't wait till the next episode so they can highlight the next couple.

Well, it's impossible for everyone to like the same series...
Anyway, I like this drama because is really fun but It feels sometimes like Mai-chan isn't the main character but her students. Still needs more scenes in the show.
Toumu is so cool ... He always makes thing worse with his comments.
I'd like to see more of Maeda Gouki (Narita Shizuya) but I'll guess that's for episode 3~

My opinions on who likes who in the show.

All the girls like the guys they are paired up with and all the guys like the girls they are paired up with except Kazuki, whom likes Toumu. I think Kazuki is at least bi-curious if not more. I wouldn't say he is gay since he did like girls before, even though it was girls whom he shouldn't have liked. I think Hitomi likes Kazuki since she is always teasing him. Classic kindergarten puppy love. I think Eiri/Toumu like each other despite what they say about each other. Those 2 actually make the best couple IMO. The other's are obvious. I didn't watch episode 4 yet but I'm assuming Shintarou and Maho get together.
I wonder if they are actually going to learn how to dance ^_^

[/spoiler]Very insightful analysis. I also think Hitomi likes Kazuki. Does anyone else think Eiri's voice was a little annoying in episode 2 when she was whining? I'm not sure if Eiri/Toumu make the greatest couple but they are diffinately the loudest couple. Though every couple is pretty cute. I just glanced at episode 4, and watching the preview of episode 5 it looks like it's going to be good.

Well I think that this was another stellar episode. I think this show is excellent as social commentary and as entertainment. I really want all the couples to hook up.
Okay everything I wrote in the spoiler are my views while I was watching the show (long read)

I love how this series addresses real highschool issues. Its been confirmed that at least 2 of the girls are sexually active, germ girl and eiri. Thats so realistic in my personal experience.
When genki-kun does the old man voice at the t-back shire it always makes me laugh so hard! Man he is motivated, of course I can see kyoku-chan in a t-back anytime, muwahahaha.
OMG eiri is so shinobi, she is always in the bathroom, it made me laugh so hard *toilet flush* MASAKA, lolololol
Looking at germ girl, I wonder who she gave herself to? She is quite attractive, I wonder what type of man......
Oh genki-kun is S&M, beat him into adulthood, huh? lol.

I swear this drama is a live action anime, when mai-chan and germ girl were talking then everyone stumbled, straight out of anime. Mai-chan's whole character is fantasy in the fantasy drama world....
Kawaii yo the way that germ girl and hair-flip boy are hooking up. Man I really love the way that this show is. The boys are pouring their hearts out though.... This girls are frigid. The stuff hair flip boy wrote in his letters, I think it was so romantic *cough* in a manly way!
Wow this show is really touching a lot of points from a high school perspective. Its covered , masturbation, clingly girls, abortion, and now suicide, sugoi this show is really going to be educational and entertaining
My thought on the couples

Well even though they say they don't like each other, they prove time and time again that they are right for each other. Uhm genki-kun and eiri are both "flippant" lovers. Neither can decide who they like. They are similar in this way. And I still think they like each other. Of course everyone else is self explanatory. Well hitomi, she is the interesting one. I think she likes kazu and will accept being by him, even if she can't have him. So in that aspect she is very similar to kazu. They are both the unrequited lovers, so in that aspect they belong together. The other couples are normal, imo.

First thing is I think you are talking about episode 3. Some of your comments I wouldn't have ever thought of myself. I do agree that these topics that they touch on are what some students experience everyday. Heck in the U.S. teen pregnancy is at an alarming rate. I've never been to Japan so I wouldn't know. But one thing I hope for is that this Jdorama breaks the barrier between these topics and the public.
