Hi,
I currently have a system that records Japanese analogue TV and I transfer the files to watch on a system in another country. I want to prepare the same system with a digital tuner for when the analogue channels shut down.
Is there a way to record digital TV in Japan and watch it on a different PC system or viewer? I've read that the digital broadcasts are encrypted when recorded.
Is this encryption tied to a single device - or can I buy a second tuner and use this to watch the programs recorded on a different system?
Do all the 1seg devices also encrypt their recordings? I thought I once read that some devices don't protect the recording. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I don't think the slingbox allows recording. I need to be able to record and then transfer the files rather than stream in realtime.
