If you can't view the .srt files you can always change it into an .ass file ^^ That's what I always do!

Make sure your srt file has the same name as the video you want to watch: [Down n Dirty FanSubs] Bridges of Madison County In Terebethia. avi won't find [Down And Dirty FanSubs] Bridges of Madison County In Terebethia. srt. Sometimes the difference can be very small, so you may just want to rename both files if you can't see what to change.
