First, as many, I was shocked to hear this.
Of course I will stand behind any final decision concerning the tracker's future.
I am just a bit surprised that, even though everything's been done according (removing things upon request etc), it still causes so many problems. I have the feeling it has been getting really bad by the end of last year and it continues becoming worse concerning the internet and things that can be shared and are accessible.
I am talking about simple things as tv stuff, vids that run on YouTube for example. They've started such immense restrictions, even for - weird example - let's say a music video you know you just saw on your local tv (thus it must have passed copyright in your country as well) but when you want to watch it on Youtube, it will block you because you're "in the wrong country". The restricitons concerning such things have become insane.
I get the feeling internet is slowly loosing its "international" and "accessible" traits that used to actually connect people around the world.
Sorry about the rambling, but it just irks me.... while I do totally agree with not sharing things that have been let's say ripped off official DVDs, I don't get why people feel that not only tv rips of tv shows but also news reports (sometimes even local daily news, simple commercials) have to be taken off of every possible site.
I wonder how far they will go in the future.... :/
Again, I am supportive of any outcome, and if there are claims we have to comply.
(and yes, I do buy my favorite cds and dvds whenever I can, but I also believe that if one day they ban any type of sharing of _any_ kind of media even if not copyrighted, we're going to get closer to visions of Orwell's 1984. sorry if that seems exaggerated....)
Good luck, D-Addicts!! We support you in any decision! Always!!

I' m worried about re-seed requests..
Those who want to help re-seeding, and not have the .torrent file (and it is not posted) it will be harder for them to do so...

Hard times require hard measures, sorry. |
But Ruroshin didn't mention that DA provider complained about the number of non-active members
The actions taken against DA have only a connection with the service provided to the community, that is: give to everybody for free what TV channels don't even think to provide for a fee. Why, then, try to punish people who didn't do any harm. Of course, gently deleting non-active accounts after having warned their owner is something all forum administrators are forced to do from time to time, but it has nothing to do with the present situation. A private site with "inside" torrents will also be under pressure, I think.

Regarding torrent re-seeds, I don't think I can re-seed the dramas that I have uploaded in the d-addicts tracker as my bandwidth is limited. I will only be able to seed new drama episodes using new trackers.
So if those who have downloaded my torrents don't mind helping me re-seed them using new trackers, that would be really appreciated

if we could help to put drama on megaupload, let us know about it.
I'm sure most of us have a lot of drama to share

How do non-active users increase the bandwidth? That said, I'm in favor of sweeping out the deadwood.

Even non-active members can contribute - if they leave their BitTorrent client running after finishing their downloads. I have never posted on the forums before, but if I finish downloading something that has few seeds, I often leave my BitTorrent client running for quite a while.

Please don't choose MU, RS, MF etc.
With torrent system I can start DL and, for example, go working. When I'm back in evening, there's fresh episode waiting for me to watch )
So, please keep torrents! I don't care if it will be private (and called D-Addicts 2.0), just keep it! (crying)

I think Ruroshin pointed out that going private doesn't necessarily eliminate the problem with copyright police/watchdogs going after DA constantly with their take down harassment. Hence, DA doesn't want to be the centralized host for all these drama/media torrents. That's why option #3 might be more hassle free, though I'm not sure how it works with all these copyright laws and legal issues
Meh, I knew this was coming b/c I read some news on how Japanese and Korean broadcasting companies were going all out to cease their stuff from becoming easily accessible for the public. Sucks. I didn't know their mission has started so soon.

Mmm... kinda got used to the services provided by DA. I do know things come and go.
I'll be happy if the site will continue in some manner. We'll find a way to download the drama's (I hope), but we'll really miss the podium! As long as the subs keep coming I can continue my D-addiction! My Japanese is too poor, alas, too watch without them.
Thanks for the wonderful service till now! DA won't disappear like Mininova because of the love for the drama's from all of us!

i agree using MU, MF and RS is really unstable here in my country, sometimes it works and sometimes it don't.
still i read someone writing here about Jpopsuki tracker, i find it's a good idea, Asia Torrents have a good tracker too. Sorry for not helping much since i don't understand this technical problems :S
EDIT: i just read the update i think the #3 option is the best so far!!
