Nya!Fansubs presents:
Osen Episode One (Version 1280x720)
Starring - Uchi Hiroki, Aoi Yuu

Two screencaps show the 1280x720res, and two show the 640x380res

Translations & QC: BlueEyedWolf
Editing: MeiohSetsuna
Karaoke, Timing, QC & Encoding: Himeko Himura

As a courtesy to those who have been supporting us all this time, I've decided to offer two versions of this drama. It's a personal decision and one that I'm hoping won't backfire. I've been lead to understand that some computers can't handle overly large resolutions and did a second encode of the same file, reducing it to a 640x380 resolution. I have three computers and only one can handle the larger. I believe that there was a raw file of 704x396 resolution, but decided against using that version for quality reasons. Again, this is just a courtesy and the and the 1280x720 version will always take precedence in release. If you think it's unnecessary or if you think it's a good idea, please feel free to tell us as this is a trial run and I'd like to know how the response is as there isn't a precedent I can fall back on. More than a few people encouraged me to do this, which is why I'm just releasing rather than holding a vote. If all you're going to do is complain, keep it to yourself please. If you don't want it, don't download it or delete it. It's as simple as that. No need to start a fuss. Also, please refrain from asking for re-encodes of other dramas we may have subbed or any demands for dramas that we are currently subbing/planning to sub at this time. These threads are for Osen comments only and hopefully nice ones. We're doing our best to go through all of our commitments and they will be out, whether or not on a timely schedule. This drama and others will be released at our leisure but as quickly as possible as all of us are going through finals and also planning trips to Japan (hopefully to go and stalk Uchi or something - knowing Blue it'll be idk, Jin? Ryo? DOCCHI?! Most likely both).

Here's wishing to those who are still in school good grades and those who are out of it a happy summer ^_^

~Nya!Posse

First thanks for subbing it, looks to be fun.
About the resolution "issue". When you look at raw uploads the 704x396 versions still always have larger numbers of downloads than the 1280x720 ones. I think apart from the reason that quite a few pcs can't handle the large resolution files (my older ones among them) there is also the reason that a lot of people don't have high speed internet connections or have download quotas they can't overstep (without paying) so there is another reason people might prefer the lower resolution. But I think that there will also be many people who appreciate your high resolution release.
I personally like HQ but I'm usually satisfied with 704x396 when they come from hdtv captures and are encoded by someone with technical know-how. So I will wait for the other version and then decide if it's not "good enough" for me^^

Thanks for this~~~ Hey, I have a 1080p tv, and a stand alone divx player, but last time I tried playing a 1280x720 video it said resolution not supported. What's the deal?

That means your divx player cannot support Divx HD.

720p would look nice on my 50" plasma. Thanks.

The only reason I support 704X396 is to reduce the download time needed. Other than that, I fully support 720p.

In any case, thanks for providing this subs. I can't complain either way.

I've talked to a lot of people about this and they all said the same thing. Many PCs can't handle high resolutions and I really want everyone to be able to enjoy our subs. The file size for both are the same, however, mostly because I refused to have any quality loss while changing the resolution and making the file size smaller or using the 704x396 version made the file come out blocky and kinda icky looking. I'm glad that you're going to try both and see which one you like better and thank you for downloading ^_^

Not many stand alone divx players support anything above 720x480(i.e. DVD resolution). I recommend you look into media players like the Mediagate HD-350 or the newer models from Tivx. They are expensive though but they even play h264/x264 or just use your computer as an HTPC.

The reason I rarely download videos with the resolution 1280x720 or above is that I am near-sighted and therefore have to set my computer's resolution to 800x600, even though I can use a higher resolution for for the screen.

Thanks for the info guys. There's no way I'm paying $200+ to watch the HD one on my 54"LCD. Thankfully there's gonna be a low res version.

YES! 720p HARDSUB!

THANK YOU for a 720p Release! I wish this was a set standard but some people cant handle Higher resolution videos (I own an ASUS EEE PC for field work, and it can barely handle 720p but still watchable) - note this PC is only 900Mhz CPU speed.

My official Computer can be found here: http://www.overclock.net/water-cooling/327283-my-upgraded-rig-cosmos-s.html

Back on topic-

Wow, I was thinking -- "Osen.... ahhh I really want to watch it... *browsing through pictures of Aoi Yu* "....
....then I came to the torrent page and BAM! ITS THERE! hahaha.

Furu will be happy.

pn0yb0i: We started doing 720p releases with Yukan and will continue to do so if it is available. ^_^ This is the first that we've offered two versions of the same video, however and since it looks like we're getting some really good responses, we might continue to do so.

And yes, the seed is in Hawaii. In fact, all of Nya!s main group is from Hawaii.
