can someone help? I tried burning the fated to love you 1 and 2 to dvd and the english subtitles are off the screen. When I watch on my computer the subtitles are fine and I can see the whole picture. But when I burn the episodes to dvd somehow the picture is cropped and I can't read the subtitles because they are halfway off the screen at the bottom. I even tried to download the files again just to see if it would be any different but there's no difference. Anyone know why?? thanks!

im assuming you're converting the hardsubs of Fated To Love You to DVD-Video format?

the 'problem' is called overscan, and you'd have to add black borders all around your video before converting to DVD in order to properly view the video without having any actual video cut off on any of the sides

Thanks AkumaX. Yes they are hardsubbed. I did a little research on the net and I found that a lot of other people are having the same issues. I was a little wary of the programs that are offered on the net. I actually used a universal remote on another Phillips DivX dvd player and the picture zoomed out and I could read the subs but the picture was a bit smaller. I'll check out your links too. Thanks a bunch. Mr. Green

Adding the blackbars can also be a bit of an issue. I tried to do it long ago and on different TVs it was either too much or not enough. In the end I gave up. Later I ended up getting a TV with VGA input and HTPC for the livingroom.

hmm... if the video is 704 x 368 jus add the borders to make the movie 720 x 480, for example:

top: black border 56 pixels
left: black border 8 pixels
right: black border 8 pixels
bottom: black border 56 pixels

that should contain your movie within the screen's limits.
