Another band I'm surprised no one said yet is Kaggra, they're one of the greatest bands imo. Isshi's voice is great. My favorite song from them are between 鬼哭啾愀 (kikoku shuushuu) and 忘却の果ての凍えた孤独 (Boukyaku no hate no kogoeta kodoku)

I'm going to continue the list from the previous post. I'm surprised people haven't listed them or even heard of them, they're pretty good. Then again its pretty much my own opinion of course but if you don't like Jrock, electronica, loli/gothic,visual kei type bands you might wanna stay away from this list.

Aural Vampire -Shōnan Zoku -Cannibal Coast and Dark wave surfer
GaGaaling -i scream
GPKISM- Atheos
Nana Kitade-ファムファタール
Matenrou Opera - Dachura
Alan - Ashita e no sanka
Clear veil - Cold prey
Asriel - 思いの欠片と信じる欠片
Aya Kamiki-crash
Yousei Teikoku- Weiβ Flugel

For JPop, my favorite artists are korean, but they sing in Japanese too:
BoA (Eien, Eat You Up, Energetic, Lose Your Mind, Girlfriend w/ Crystal Kay...)
Tohoshinki / DBSK / TVXQ (MIROTIC, Purple Line, TRICK, Survivor...)

I also like KAT-TUN (Real Face, Don't U Ever Stop, Rescue, and all of their singles), MiChi (Promise, Kiss Kiss xxx, Change The World), Hirai Ken (Pop Star)...

For JRock, I recommend 'I.V.' by X-Japan, Kamiki Aya (Communication Break, Pierrot), and Nightmare, mainly Smile
