Well, you could start by telling everyone what projects you are starting because just asking people to PM you doesn't help.
Also, you should read all the stickies in this forum to get an idea as to how other fansub groups advertise themselves to members and what it takes to be a "good" fansub group._________________ D-Addicts is like a library: Most of the resources are there, you just have to search around!

Maybe fansubbers prefer to join groups that have made at least a minimal announcement on their projects...
(it's only my humble opinion...)

Yeah, I'm not particularly interested in joining a group... but I am willing to act as editor on anything that doesn't seem totally worthless, even if I don't particularly like the show. So, what are you thinking of working on?
What good is a group without a project?

| I think you need to work on a project before you start a group. The fact that you don't know which dramas need subs means that you have very little idea of how to go about doing this. I am not trying to be mean, I am just trying to point you in the right direction. So are a lot of other very knowlegeable folks. As somebody said already, if you just post that you want to translate, or edit, or time, or whatever, you will get on a project pretty fast. Saying that you want to start a group but have no project just does not make sense. I am working on two projects right now that have no group associated with them, and yet 4 or 5 people are working together effectively in both cases. So you see, having a project is more important than having a group. The whole point is to release subtitles, isn't it? If you can translate or time you will have no shortage of projects to work on.

that's a funny statement. any drama that is uploaded as a raw and has no one making subs for it, is a candidate for a project. there are a lot them here

| Yup, you'll prob get better response if you pick a project first. You see, I work as an independant or kinda 'freelance'. I take on projects of things that interest me, if a show doesn't interest me, then it'll become a chore and eventually get burned out on it. On the other hand., if it's a show I like, I can spend hours on end on it & crank it out as soon as eagerly can.

that's becuz you're not specific in describing what kind of drama that you'd like to sub
try to decide on this first:
jdrama/cdrama/kdrama <- to find translators
genre: drama/romantic/comedy/etc
then decide on which position that you need in the group (translator, timer, typesetting, encoder, etc)
you didn't even tell us who are already in the group, is it yourself for now? or are there anybody else?
if you still have a hard time to find people to join your group, why don't u try to find a group that has a drama that you'd like to sub? it doesn't hurt to join other group. you're still doing fansubbing no matter which group you're in.
