Anybody watch this? It's was pretty interesting..I always thought America was the best in Baseball since its the "All-American Past time" but I guess I was wrong. When it comes to Baseball, Japan tool this year..

Argh. I was annoyed by the series. For those who didn't keep up with the rest of the series, Korea was undefeated and beat Japan twice, and Japan would have been eliminated if America beat Mexico. America LOST to Mexico, and Japan went against Korea for the third time, and beat them, giving Korea it's first and only loss in the entire series. It didn't help that it was a complete shutout too, 6-0. I'm grumpy about the whole thing, but I have to hand it to Sadaharu Oh, the Japanese baseball manager. He had a psychic mindset when he started plugging in some last minute changes as soon as the Korean team changed their pitcher. He did his homework.

Yeah, I was pretty impressed too..It was a good series though, and lets not forget that this was the first year they've ever done this so there's always next year. Poor Korea though..they had a good run.

As for America, I think they lost against Canada as well..

Yeah.. but Ichiro Suzuki did NOT have to say that he wanted to show Taipei China and Korea that they were 30 years behind in baseball Glare

Completely unneccessary, although I think it fueled the Koreans more.

Yeah, I heard that too..

Here's the actual comment:

Quote:
Not only will we win, but also we’ll make Japanese baseball fans feel that they saw a truly great game. I want to make [Korea and Taiwan] see that they will not be able to beat Japan in next 30 years.

I guess he was disappointed after he lost. I mean, Korea did very well overall, just for that one game..

Another quote bu Ichiro after the defeat:

Quote:
"I feel ashamed of this defeat." Ichiro said afterwards. He hit only .231 in group play. "If I am satisfied with these results," he said, "I should quit baseball."

i was pretty surprised to hear ichiro make comments like those, but congrats to the jp team. i only saw some highlights, but it looked like a pretty competitive series.

it's amazing how much controversy this caused though, with two misjudgements made by american judges in favor of the US.
