i've been entertaining the idea of doing a project where i need to do the timing myself...Fear
so i've been using sabbu to set the timings, but i'm more comfortable working in subtitle workshop to input the actual subtitles (more comforable w/ all the keystroke commands in workshop and sabbu has a weird/nasty tendency to crash on my system).
but the problem is that unless i put in filler/junk characters into each line, the timings from sabbu don't register in subtitle workshop...
any idea what's up or how to overcome it? scratch
otherwise, i guess i just need to get used to doing it in sabbu (and saving often)... ^_^;;;

danke salut

I'm not too sure, but saving is very easy. Ctrl-S. It's become an annoying habit for me. Laugh

You can set an option in sabbu, so that it auto saves for you every so often.

never used sabbu myself,but how about just adding those "unusual characters" and just removing them once u start working on Workshop? there's a "Search and Replace" option you could use to easily find those characters and take them off or replace them..

hope that helps Unsure

sabbu autosaves, but you can still lose a lot of work...^_^;;;
plus it's just annoying having to restart the program and reload all the files each time. As for putting in junk characters, that's what i was doing before, but it's actually pretty time consuming to type a letter or two into each line (so far, it looks to be a little more than 500 lines per episode)...

i'm guessing it's probably an idiosyncrasy of subtitle workshop... ah, well...
just thought somebody else might have had something similar before but no biggie, i can adapt...

why are you using Sabbu?
I usually use Media Subtitler,from what u're saying,I believe its kind of similar to Sabbu.. then you could easily edit ur subs in Workshop later~

Maybe he/she is using it because the want to? Isn't that good enough of a reason, you don't actually expect everyone to use the same program, do you? Laugh
