I'm on Time Warner and checked with them and neither of my computers can get to d-addicts unless I run through a proxy server, which I don't want to do. Anybody have any ideas on what needs to be done
A trace shows

Right now, the only thing I can see is that all 3 of you that have been posting problems are all on Time Warner's RoadRunner service, but you ll seem to be located in different parts of the country? Maybe something related to this?
When did you start having problems? Is it just accessing the forum or can you not connect to the tracker either?
Type "ping 89.149.226.119" into your command prompt and tell me if you get anything.
You checked with Time Warner? What did they say about it?

I did check with TW and they say that they're not blocking and I tend to believe them because on the trace route it doesn't fail until it's past TW, mine fails at hwng which is Highwinds Network Group not part of TW so it's more like blocked from Highwinds Network Group.
orangedangila is blocked after glbx-level3-te, well past TW. Once you're past the TW servers something is blocking it.
I can easily get here through a proxy, I assume orangedangila must be doing the same thing. Also it doesn't make sense blocking a torrent site and failing to block the torrents. I d/l a lot more torrents from http://tokyotosho.info/ and Animesuki and neither is blocked. Also RR doubled my u/l speed because now they have to compete against Verizon FiOS in my area.
Thanks for the help

I'm encountering the same problem as Bodhi mentioned since last night. My ISP is Insight but they run through RR.
Trace stopped at internetserviceteam.com after 10 hops. Hope someone can help out here.
I'm posting this through a proxy server as advised by Bodhi in JDorama.Com

I think we're going to need a couple more traceroute's posted in order to see if there's a common downstream provider that is losing the signal.
If you go through the Tracker Probs and Solns thread, you'll see that something similar has happened before. It isn't necessarily Time Warner's fault, but it might be something they can figure out with the downstream provider.
We need to find groink or somebody else who knows more about this than me...

What to do? |
Try Using a bit torrent client that has DHT and make sure that DHT is on. I'm using utorrent and while it says the tracker is down, I'm downloading right now download speed 282kB/s uploading 91 kB/s. It's just a work around until we find somone who really knows what they're doing.

I don't get that it reports my IP address and below it says (Now detects many proxy servers) not that it detects them on my system.
DHT is BitTorrent Distributed Hash Table (DHT) or Trackerless BitTorrent, link below for an explanation.
Ihttp://niallohiggins.com/2007/12/24/bittorrent-distributed-hash-table-dht-or-trackerless-bittorrent-i/
I use utorrent it has DHT built in it may need to be enabled. I'm not an expert in any of this stuff, but these are the work arounds that work for me. I hope someone who knows what they're doing reads this thread and gives us advice on how to fix the problem, but in the meantime we can still download torrents and soft subs through the proxy, and with DHT on I've been getting good d/l u/l speeds even without the tracker, I hope this might also help others in the situation.
If anyone reads this thread and is on TW and it still works OK, please post a message, I'm curious, if all TW are having the same problem.

I am also on time warner RR and can only connect with D-addicts through a provy (Proxify). At least I can download on DHT once I get to D-addicts. I'll post my tracert below but it's the same as Bodhi in that the problem seems to be Highwinds. I spoke with a time warner rep and they say the same, that the packet is being stoped at Highwinds. I thought that the www was designed to automaticaly route around problems such as this but for whatever reason my packet keeps being routed to Highwinds and stoping.

Thanks to Bodhi and mizune for their responses. I don't know what changed to make this possible again, but I hope the situation continues. |
I can still only access the site through a proxy but the tracker has started working for me, hope I also can start accessing the site without the proxy. Surpur I'm really glad it's cleared up for you!
