Spring and summer are well on their way, but the weather is likely to be pretty rubbish for some time yet. That means on your well-earned days off work, you could end up stuck in the house more often than you’d like- which can easily lead to boredom. The last thing most of us want to do is spend time indoors after enduring the past couple of years of lockdowns, but there are things you can do to eliminate boredom and help you stay sane. And on the plus side, staying home and relaxing might just be what’s needed every once in a while. Here are some ideas!

Movie day

Most of us have a list of movies that we plan on watching when we get the chance, but often the chance never arises due to our busy lifestyles. So, if you’re stuck home due to bad weather, why not dedicate a day to this? Make yourself some snacks and load up that Netflix ‘to watch’ list you’ve been compiling for months. If you’re looking for ideas for great movies to watch or how to have the perfect movie night, take a scroll through this blog- we have tonnes of recommendations!

Gaming

Getting into a good game can kill hours of boredom. You don’t need a fancy computer setup since these days you can download games and apps easily to your phone or tablet, if you’re at a loose end simply have a scroll through the app store and see if anything appeals. Popular types of games include casino-style progressive slots and fixed slot machine jackpot games. Jackpot slots are a fun way to win prizes and rewards and will certainly kill a few hours of boredom. If you have an old retro console such as a Sega Megadrive or old Nintendo lurking somewhere in your loft, why not dig it out and have some fun with it? Otherwise, you could rope in your family members and play a board or card game!

Gym

Exercise is something many of us put off, admittedly it’s not as exciting as jackpot slots! But if you have nothing better to do, why not do a workout? You could follow along with a Youtube video or use some home workout equipment. Otherwise, you could always go somewhere indoors to work out like the swimming baths or the gym, and as an added bonus you could treat yourself to a jacuzzi or sauna afterward.

Crafts

Getting creative is good for the mind, body, and soul. You don’t even need to be a creative person, there’s always the option to follow simple craft ideas on YouTube or from blogs using things you probably already have at home. You could bake cookies or cakes, you could doodle, paint or draw. You could knit or sew, or upcycle a piece of furniture. There are loads of different directions to go with it, and it’s something you could pick up again whenever you’re bored or at a loose end.

Get organized

While this might not seem like the most enjoyable task on the surface, it’s something that will keep you busy and give you a huge sense of achievement. You do a full spring clean or stick to one task such as a drawer, your pantry, your car, or your desk. You’ll feel much better about doing it and it’s a useful way to spend your time when you’re stuck at home!
