To achieve this, KEPCO is installing over 22 million intelligent meters, with a total cost of over $1.5 billion.

South Korea is characterized by its excellent connectivity throughout the country, which favors the Internet of Things (IoT). For instance, South Korea had already achieved 100% coverage with 4G LTE connectivity by 2012. With adequate infrastructure in place, IoT projects become very attractive for both the government and the private sector.
