Why didn't they have Nodame play with a full orchestra conducted by Chiaki? They are following the manga, and that hasn't (yet) happened in the manga. Stay tuned for the upcoming movies.... I honestly enjoyed Nodame's piano playing more than Chiaki's conducting. I don't know... One possible reason ...

I haven't read the manga but I wished the live action didn't skim over these details That's really the problem with both adaptations. If you value the details, by all means you should read the manga. For most who don't know much about conducting, it's not really that noticeable... Though I do notice at times he is sorta out of sync with the music... It's not surprising that the anime would/could be more convincing in this respect, since you have virtually unlimited control of the video image......

This falls in line with my idea that the manga will probably end in mid-late 2009. Given Ninomiya's normal output speed (4 chapters in 3 months), and assuming she resumes work in January, that means there may be as few as 8-10 more chapters. That hardly seems like time for the loose ends to get tied...

I find the anime not as lively as the live action, ... They are different foods. I enjoy them both. I thought the manga is still ongoing. Sure the live action SP wraps things up, but it doesn't wrap things up that nicely. Actually come to think of it, if there is a nodame cantabile second series, then it won't be out for a long time to come since the manga has to finish the story first. The manga...
