I didn't really feel that the episode was too drawn-out; I could have done without the overdramatic pausing with Kyousuke and his pliers towards the end, but that's really just a jdrama trope that I have learned to live with. Overall I quite enjoyed the episode, it had a nice mix of humor and action...

I have to second HanaKimi; even though the main love story is completely predictable and boring (and slightly creepy in that Horikita Maki plays a total stalker), the supporting cast makes up for it and it's actually super funny and entertaining. Another drama I'd recommend is Tiger & Dragon; it...

I liked the first episode well enough, and I like Eita and Toma, so I'm going to continue for at least a couple more episodes... I have a feeling that it could turn out really formulaic and repetitive, though. Here's hoping that feeling is wrong.

I have to jump on the Yamada Takayuki bandwagon; I've liked him in everything I've seen him in. I also quite like Nagase Tomoya, mainly for Ikebukuro West Gate Park, which remains my favorite drama ever. Speaking of, I also have to list Kubozuka Yosuke. Even though his career is now mostly dead, he ...

Yamada Taro Monogatari. I love Sho and Nino but this drama was just painful. Ikegami Takako ranks #1 on my Characters I Would Most Like To Punch In The Face list. I can't even watch Tabe Mikako in anything else now, because I get flashbacks to this drama. I didn't even finish it, although I did vali...

If you're looking for tearjerkers, I have to recommend Sekai no Chuushin de, Ai wo Sakebu. I didn't cry at Koizora (I only watched the movie, not the drama), but Sekaichuu had me sobbing. It's one of my all-time favorite j-dramas.

I thought this drama was superb. Ohno and Toma both performed very well, although I must admit that I did think Ohno was the better of the two. I came into Maou not expecting much from Ohno, since this was his first lead role (I am choosing not to count the movies he starred in with the rest of Aras...

Tested this out on a whim even though I don't know who half the people listed are... ended up getting Mizushima, so okay. I wouldn't mind him, although I do tend to prefer older guys (Okada would probably be my first choice out of the list).

8) evigsinne, as you said, it is just my interpretation of IL - and I'm not a native Japanese speaker, so I can only understand maybe a little phrase here and there - so I'm sure I'm missing things in context, and who knows, when the Querbeet subs arrive, maybe I'll change my mind about Kanon and h...

Evigsinne, you have a point about how Kanon's boundaries (or lack of respect to) are strange and uncomfortable to watch, but I do think she's a sympathetic character, or as sympathetic as the writer can manage. I had such issues with Last Friends, but this is not the thread to go into them - but ba...

There's also that it's just not terribly good. I came into this drama with high hopes because I quite enjoyed Last Friends, but so far I've been disappointed. Horikita Maki's character is completely unlikeable for me; she's such a stalker that I actually don't want her to have any sort of happiness ...
