Did anyone find masami, Seira's 'best' friend really annoying in ep 8? Your friend gets pushed down by the school witch, and then when she gets up and says stuff you don't agree with, you say something like,"If that's what you're saying, then it's over between us."???? I mean what the heck...

Thanks annoyedwabbit...that helps although it does seem like a rather odd saying.
I must be missing some sort of cultural context.

Can someone tell me what is the meaning of 'Kanbutsu'?

I looked it up online and it says dried veggies. But how does that make sense in the drama when Kotaro says,"I am Kanbutsu!"

I thought it was something like that...but the translation was so odd (to be generous) that I thought maybe I had seriously missed something. Thanks!

For anyone that finished watching this drama, I have a question!

How did HIroshi get into the school in the end? I don't quite understand the part where the dad's boss tells the dad something in the office and then suddenly he's in the school. What happened??

Haha, since this thread came alive again, I'll add my bit. I think you don't have to worry about the young ones getting abused by an 80+ year old man. Johnny probably does not have the sexual energy anymore to get things going... Plus if you wanted to take down JE to save the boys, all your favorite...

So far, this drama tops HYD2 for this year's bunch. I love it and yet, I am unable to watch it continuously. One episode a day is enough for me. I have to prepare myself mentally to watch it to be honest. Unlike other dramas, I actually do NOT snack when I watch this (try imagine your tears soaking ...

I went to Japan in May 06, and am planning a return in March 07. I'm into Anime, and Jdrama and Jpop. But to be fair, a lot of anime has taught me much about the culture of the Japanese...like the outward politeness of the society, the fact that Japanese ppl are usually obsessed with their hair and ...

I'm Canadian Chinese and I used to be fed lots of anti Japanese stories (basically war stories about their cruelty etc) till I disliked them a lot. Then a friend once said to me...well, if you hate Japan so much, you should throw out everything you have that is Japanese. Haha...my house would be emp...

GTO for me is far better. I guess I could identify with it better even though the lengths Onizuka Sensei goes to to help ppl are a bit outrageous. In Orange Days, I kept feeling there had to be a better way for the ppl in the show to handle things and I kept wanting to get in there and scream at the...

Xeonslyde, I didn't know you already saw H2...but I recommended you watch H2 in another thread as I felt it was the best drama I had ever seen.

I dunno why. I guess I fell for Ichikawa Yui that's why. :-P

I didn't really like Kou too much cos of the b**ch factor in the way she sometimes treated Kai. But then I really really started to enjoy her acting when I found out she sang the ending theme song for Sekai no Chuushin de...and then I was in love with her voice...ironically in a show where she plays...

Actually it depends on your gender too. From a guy point of view, and based on the popularity of the dramas my guy friends like to borrow from me, If you enjoy those funny growing pains/school stories, then I think H2, GTO, Gokusen, Stand Up! will entertain you. For those romantic ones that make you...

How come H2 is not up there for most people?

I found H2 super good and it shot to my #1 spot.
I usually base my liking on how much I NEEDed to see the next episode so here goes:
1. H2
2. GTO
3. Gokusen
4. Sekai no chuushin de
5. Stand Up!

Onizuka Sensei gets my vote cos he seems fun to hang out with. Yangumi is hilarious but has this weird superhero alter ego that kinda scares me, especially after she undoes her hair and remove her glasses. But I love the way she just appears next to the students when in group conversations. Kinpachi...
