Bingo. Most Korean dramas are shot a mere few days before broadcast. Getting as many actors together in the same set/location speeds up the shoot. No other explanation.

There's still 450p (and... what was it, 480p?) and Tivir versions, but you have to search the big webhards for those. Then again, these days even good 720p are hard to come by, even with 3-4 different versions available. Moohan's oversized garbage isn't worth the pain, and there's new groups like GO...

That's 별순검/Byeolsungeom/Joseon Police. Pilot+original series ran for 5 eps in 2005, then they made a 20 episode cable version with different actors (probably what you're watching, split in two parts), and the second season of that (again, with completely different actors) is starting next weekend.

Nah, young Yi San (Park Ji Bin) was quite disappointing as well. You can see clearly Lee Byung Hoon can't lead young actors. Same thing happened in Seo Dong Yo, Dae Jang Geum well... Jo Jung Eun has talent of her own so she was cute at least. But look at Park Ji Bin and all you see is a kid thinking...
