Average. He's a nice face to look at and has some good expression, but especially among film actors, he is average. It is good that he is doing films though! Getting better! To tell you the truth, I haven't really noticed him in dramas, I'll check back.

Most of the medial drama's are pretty sad ~_~ although some do get overdramatic. 1 Litre of Tears if you want a good sad JDrama.

I thought Shindo was really good, and Kimi ni Shika Kikoenai(er Calling You) was semi boring, but interesting. Both of those movies are definately great to watch if you like to ponder and think a lot about a movie(like me).

I liked Sono Toki wa Kare ni Yoroshiku, although I do agree that Masami's acting was so-so. It was a little cheesy(?) at times and a bit overacted but she was still cute and it semi-fit the role. Love those movies...the adaptations of Ichikawa Takuji's novels.
