I just watched ep 9 raw and a lot of things still haven't quite gelled..... First off, I've never read the book, so that might be why the drama keeps surprising me, but even if it was a standalone story, I never would have expected the abuse theme. I actually kind of enjoyed the movie. The pace is extremely slow but I was really moved at times and I found myself cheering for that couple. But then again, all that incest idea doesn't put me off.

If nothing else it's one of those 'japanese for beginners' movies.
