Reminds me of "one liter of tears", though thankfully a lot lighter, with some funny moments. In fact Toyokawa and Ashida are very cute together.

On a shallow note, Toyokawa is 50 but he surely can sport a tanktop. 8)

I've only seen 4 or 5 Taigas but AOI Tokugawa Sandai (2000) and Ryōmaden (2010) were awesome, each in its own way. They're my favorite Japanese dramas.

Not an expert here but I found AOI ~ Tokugawa Sandai (2000) and Ryomaden (2010) superb. Musashi (2003) was good too.

If bandwidth is a problem: maybe just putting up one torrent with with 5 episodes every 1 or 2 weeks, letting then the peers seed the batch of the week before while you can just seed the new one?

One last thing on the age discussion:
I don't think it would be even legal to have a kid working all the hours required for the lead in 10+ episodes under the rigid weekly schedule of a one year long show like a Taiga.

Hatsu and Chacha are just 3-4 years older than Gou - you'd need 3 extremely good kid actors to make 10+ eps worth watching...

Episode 2 Liked it a lot. Really a lot of screen time for Juri-chan and she really has found her Gō: her expression are the one of a child and not comically exagerated a la Nodame. I especially liked the mixture of emotions in the "believe in yourself" scene: determination, fear, confusion...
