Re: Lesser known Jdramas of 2015

I am not sure what you mean. Marumaru tsuma is one of the highest rated drama in that season, so it is quite widely talked about. (Though to be fair, the rating of recent dramas was very low with none renzoku dramas this year hitting 20% so far, excluding asadora of course). Ghostwriter, while does...

Lesser known Jdramas of 2015

I've come to a realization that a lot of dramas this year fell off my radar because they are barely discussed on SNSm, probably because of getting the unlucky timeslots. I'll list a few here and hope to receive people's opinions on whether they are decent or not. - Marumaru Tsuma: I only discovered ...

Re: Top 5 most underrated jdramas

Considering that the last post in this thread was 2 years ago, I'd love to hear more recommendations for underrated jdramas recently. A lot of dramas shown in the midnight slot turn out to be quite good and deserve more attention. Lunch no Akko-chan Gin Nikan Yuube no Curry, Ashita no Pan Thank you...

Is there any acclaimed movie director who also branch out into TV directing like Koreeda Hirokazu?

I'm using Niji TV, but thanks anyway. I almost never watch TV of any kind, so setting up Niji is more convenient. I'm just interested in the concept of the program and want to learn more about the professional lives of people from different fields. None of the Japanese people that I know in my circl...

Massan is available for watching on drama.net with well-done subtitles.

I hope this thread can stay active. I hate soap opera and I can never watch past the 5th episode of an Asadora, but Massan is surprisingly very good. Charlotte Kate Fox stole the show and I find myself looking forward to new episodes even when I don't care for whisky.

All of the old streaming sites for Japanese documentaries have gone. Your best bet is to look them up on Youku. If you're blocked from viewing Youku videos, try installing an app called Unblock Youku. I've discovered some surprisingly cool NHK documentaries on Youku.

Surprised to see that no one has mentioned My Niji TV. It is free and offers all of the major broadcasting channels in Japan, including TBS. Sometimes the streams are not available, but My Niji is still the best software I've found.

Does anyone know where I can watch this show? Any episode is fine. All of the torrents for the show are dead and I can't find them anywhere else.

Japanese cooking technique show

Hi everybody. I'm looking for Japanese cooking shows that emphasize on techniques and tips over recipe demonstration. Does anyone know a good one?
