Looks to be a winner. The first episode started off a bit slow, but it cached up near the end. There is some wicked humour in it. Really had me laughing out loud!

Picture overload :) But I'm amazed at his range of facial expressions, just little changes in his mood are easily to see. That's what makes his role in Boys over Flowers so appealing (well beside his looks ;).

It's not a sequel and from what I know the entire series is not actually set in modern day Korea, but the first episode is supposed to show that the hero character of Iljimae is present in every generation.

I've always felt like HYD is a kind of timeless story, like Cinderella or a more similar character chemistry (should I compare..gasp!) Pride and Prejudice. What I mean to say is that it's a story that I don't mind seeing done again and again. :)

Most American shows that were shortlived.. (not counting mini series) didn't want to be short lived ^^; Sad that Veronica Mars ended and cancelled Firefly.

Having read the manga twice I believe that the adaptions made in the drama have benefitted the story in general and also made Soshi a better fleshed out character (no pun intended ;)
