I haven't, but I believe you when you say that Chinese subs would be closer to K or J dramas. There's a lot in common in the cultural backgrounds that would be impossible to get across with English.

Jiang Xin has appeared in a lot of ancient series like Tian Long Ba Ba, Da Jiao Ma Huang Hou, Xian Jian Qi Xia Zhuan and Liao Zhai too.

I'd take Jimmy Lin over Alec Su any day. Definitely agree with Vic Zhou and Mike He, and I'd add Ken Zhu, Eddie Peng and Blue Lan to the Taiwan list too.

Like a stunt double, yeah. The person took over her role for whatever action or segment or scene the real actress wasn't able to do herself.

auroragb, I'm sure there are still people who haven't seen this series or who don't know its story by heart, so your putting choice comments about the plot as spoilers was very considerate. 8)

Your sentences sound fine to me, Pokey :) And ditto to boniface; you'll definitely find Taiwan series in China, as well as those from other countries if you go to video stores. If I'm not mistaken, the Mainland's a huge market for Tw merchandise. 我家所有买的台湾剧, 象 "流星花园2", "来我家吧" etc ...
