I think Monster is already languishing away in production purgatory, and was intended to be a multi-part movie by New Line Cinema as written maybe by the guy who did 'A History of Violence'. It's probably dead in the water by now, as it's been over a year since I heard anything about it. I'd had som...

this is totally tldr isn't it? I need to write shorter posts
Hm. Not all remakes are too bad - the few remakes of UK shows, I know, like the Life on Mars, The Office, and Queer as Folk -- I hear are managing to break away from the originals and stand on their own on some level. Whether they're as good as the originals are, of course, up to opinion, but I thin...

Re: Initial thoughts
Well like you said, "in a comedic setting"...it is intended to be comedic, I think. So I don't think it's really supposed to be threatening to the viewer, even though it's supposed to appear threatening to Yuya's character. See, that was the thing I wasn't sure about - whether he's just t...

I say go for it, just to see how you like it. It's episodic in the sense it does seem to be following a 1 story/case per episode format. Sort of a procedural-yet-not-really thing. I think both Eita and Ishihara Satomi are doing great jobs, and their characters are interesting. It actually seems to b...

well, my thoughts - watch as I enter tldr mode D:
I've read the original manga, saw the japanese movie, anime, series, and meteor garden. So, I figured, since I shoved my nose in that, might as well give the Korean version a go. I still have trouble keeping track of their names, because I'm so used to thinking of them in Japanese, though. I guess t...

Initial thoughts
I just finished the raw for ep 3, so here's my thoughts on the series so far ---- Formulaic, but of a nice quality, so I'm hoping that in a few episodes, the story will step away from the formula a little more. Otherwise, this is going to feel something like a Forensic Pathologist's propaganda serie...

Well, I finally saw the first episode
Re-posting since half my reply got eaten for some reason. Well. The first episode delivered in SPADES. Oh. My. God. I am currently dling the next two. Thoughts: Aniya was a perfect mix of "I'm pretty damn cool" and idiot boy stupidity. He's clearly a dork who's either trying to be, o...

Ok. This one I definitely have to see, if only because I've really like Eita's work and I think he's got an awesome balance between strongly masculine and sweet/vulnerable in his approach to his characters -- I'm looking forward to seeing what he does here. Hopefully it's a role that'll really stret...

I'm actually kind of leery of the live action. I'm a huge fan of the manga and the works of Masanori Morita -- the artist that pretty much redefined yankee-and-sports lifestyle. He loaded the series with so much testosterone-filled, macho, muscley-dork, silly man-love that I'm not sure the cast of s...

finished watching and re: ep8 Daruma question
Wow. That was surprisingly fun to watch. The computer related technical stuff were totally out there, but still hilarious. Ikuta was cute as a button. I almost wished there was a bit of the yaoi fangirl joke like in the anime/manga for Genshikan where the yaoi doujin fangirl mentally creates a bunch...
