AvistaZ Invite for Fellow Fansubbers
Hi everyone, I have two AvistaZ invites that I want to share with fellow subbers. I want more fansubbers having access to quality raws. If you want an invite and qualify for the following conditions, let me know and I'll be happy to send you one: - Must be a JP>EN fansuber. - Must have translated 3 ...

Re: FORUM RULES - READ ME FIRST! [Updated: 2021-Apr-19]
Totally agree. I would say that even Basic Japanese is not enough to do good translation work, not to mention how painstaking it would be to look up almost every other word in every sentence. I'm definitely at intermediate level with over 10 years of learning, as well as thousands of J-drama/Anime/...

Re: FORUM RULES - READ ME FIRST! [Updated: 2021-Apr-19]
My concern is that even if a subber does additional cleaning up, the big question is, do they actually know Japanese? That's the only thing that matters. If they know Japanese, they can spot mistakes made by the online translator and correct when necessary, be it Google translator, DeepL or any othe...

Re: Removing subs formatting
I use an online tool to convert. Usually it doesn't give any problems:
But, the solution above seems better though
Code: Select all

Re: Removing subs formatting
Can't you just convert the subs to .srt?
I do that all the time, because personally, I prefer .srt to .ass or .smi.

Re: RECOMMENDED/FAVORITE JDRAMAS (ask for suggestions here)
Hi guys! I followed the Jdrama scene fairly closely between 2008-2012; don't think I really missed out on any really awesome series around then, but haven't paid attention to much since then. The only drama I love recently (2016 lol) was Kazoku no katachi. I like slice of life, light romance (like ...

Re: New active staff and some other things
My main reason for hating hardsubs has to do with video quality. A hardsubbed drama is usually synonym with bad quality video. Even the current hardsubbers, for example Blitz and Irozuku, use these low quality files to distribute their work and people who like good quality video can't enjoy these dr...

Re: New active staff and some other things
In response to #1, yes, there should be more moderators. There used to be others, but they've apparently lost interest or drifted away, as often happens at fan-supported sites. I'm troubled with the hardsub issue. To transcribe and improve subtitles that an active fansubber has made available as ha...

Re: New active staff and some other things
Here's what I think: 1 - Yes. Moderating a forum this size should be the work of more than one person. To my knowledge, it's only Keiko now. 2 - Hell yes. It's no secret that I'm strongly against hardsubbing. I think it's hypocritical to try and protect one's work by using unlicensed raws. So any at...

Re: 2020 Jdramas postponed due to COVID-19
The one I was looking forward to the most was Yell. I know they started airing it already, but I don't want to start watching and then having to wait indefinitely for the continuation. Hopefully all of this will return to normal soon. I'm glad I have an HDD full of dramas to watch until then

Re: Advertisement of paid subtitles
I wrote "no advertisement of subtitles in advance " so fansubbers still would be able to have links in their first post. If we would have to go one step further with this, then I'm afraid we wouldn't allow it for anyone at all . And if that were to happen, I'm sure there are many who woul...

Re: So.. What was the first drama you watched??
My first drama was Jiu (2011) with Meisa Kuroki and Mikako Tabe, but the one that got me hooked was Sutekina Sen Taxi. It's still one of my favorite dramas.

Re: People who disappear without a word...
I'm not sure if it's the topic itself or that people just find it hard to engage in other subjects other than subtitles. The subtitle section is easily the most frequented subforum here. They either come to see what's new or they're the ones posting new subtitles. My understanding is that many of th...

Dramas like Yube no Kare, Ashita no Pan
Hi Everyone, I just finished watching Yube no Kare, Ashita no Pan (Yesterday's Curry, Tomorrow's Bread), and it was one of the best slice of life dramas I've watched so far. It leaves you with such a warm feeling and even the music sets the perfect atmosphere. I was wondering if you guys know of any...

It seems there's another special for Dr. Coto's Clinic, which is not in the torrents. Anybody know where to find that?

Re: Help Finding Drama "Dr. Koto Shinryojo" - Dr. Coto's Clinic
Thank you! Do you have it in 480p or better, by chance? One shouldn't look a gifted horse in the mouth, but I like to watch dramas on my 58" living room TV, and anything below 480p is almost unwatchable. I'll try to downloading it anyway and see how it looks on my TV. I've seen some 360p resolu...

It's nowhere to be found.
Whatever I could find are just dead links on some old blogs.
I won't give up, but I'm losing hope.

Help Finding Drama "Dr. Koto Shinryojo" - Dr. Coto's Clinic
Hi, I've been trying to find the J-drama Dr. Koto Shinryojo or Dr. Coto's Clinic, which I watched on Crunchyroll a while ago and wanted to re-watch. Problem is, Crunchyroll doesn't have it anymore, and I can't find it in the usual places, not for download or streaming. Does anyone know where I can f...
