Does anyone that has seen this series recommend it? The ratings weren't so great, but sometimes that doesn't necessarily mean a bad drama.

[HKDrama] Burning Flame 3 (TVB 2009)

Hello! I just started this third installment of TVB's fireman-based series. The first series was the best and had characters that really drew me in as well as a good climax in the plot. The second series was not a standout for me. And now we're at the third so what do you think? My thoughts so far (...

I grew up watching HK dramas and so watched them exclusively for a long time. Probably just in the recent years I've picked up a few Taiwanese dramas from here to there starting with Meteor Garden. I agree with some of the previous posts that both have their merits and both have areas that need impr...

I didn't know the part about the writer thinking of Vic when he wrote the part, but I do agree he's doing a good job at picking different roles for himself (if indeed he does.. the system they have in Asia is a little reminiscent of old Hollywood it seems). Yeah people get type cast all the time in...

Not many wuxia/fantasy come to my mind. You can try Wind & Cloud, The Sword and the Chess of Death, Chinese Paladin and Devil's Disciples. For pure wuxia, you can try out what Airhead mentioned. In addition, you might want to try out The Duke of Mount Deer 1984, Legend of the Condor Heroes 1994...

Except CP2 is a sequal of CP1, other games in the CP series are not that relevant to CP1. Therefore, JingTian is definitely not Li Xiao Yao, but later on in the game you'll discover that JingTian is the in fact the master of Li Xiao Yao's father. Yes, the setting of CP3 is 50 years before CP1 =) Hu...

As for the point that America always copies and never comes up with anything on it's own, well the film and TV industry in America isn't the only one to do so. China, Singapore, Taiwan, Korea, and others always do remakes of Japanese dramas/manga, and Japan does the same. "Maou" anyone? T...

You don't know how much I agree!! Yeah, I watch about 1-2 dramas per season too. And even those sometimes I don't finish entirely. I miss the caliber of the late 90s early 00s dramas.

The occasional manga-derived drama feels fresh but now the industry is inundated with them. ~__~

Yeah, I guess we all feel similarly about recent drama choices. I tend to lag behind the season so I can see what kind of reception the new dramas get and just watch the popular ones.

Sometimes I can't help just watching for eye candy though hehehe.
