Depends on how old you are, I think. Like, a ten year difference probably won't seem that massive between a forty and a fifty-year old, but a fifteen year-old and a twenty-five year-old... Geh. I personally live by the "five finger rule", though. =3

Although I've never given or received a gift from Japanese people in those terms, I'd say go with the cheesy gifts. Things that scream, "THIS WAS BOUGHT IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, BIYATCH!". Or something like that. Maybe some T-shirts that say, "I <3 NY" or something equall...

The art in the manga was pretty, so I read it. Even though it's incest, I didn't find it that disturbing, which made me reconsider my values. But in any case, I'm definitely going to try and get this movie. ^___^

I try to save any watching for when I have free time (which is to say, no homework) or during the weekend. =3 But I don't get the best grades to begin with, so heh, it doesn't really matter.

Pokemon and Sailor Moon got me hooked on anime in grade six. When I discovered anime could be -gasp- downloaded in grade seven, it all began. My love grew and then in grade nine I discovered J-Drama. And that is my tale. =3 Not very interesting, but hey.

Hmmm... I think it was either the Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Live-Action or Kimi wa Petto. =3 Either way, it was Kimi wa Petto that spurred me on to eventually discover and love other series. GTO was my next big love, and now it's Densha Otoko. <333 Because even otaku need love. Hehe. =3
