I did remeber to check to make sure my version of Handbrake was current before posting. They do seem fairly good at fixing bugs as I've noticed various issues disappear as updates were released. Interesting ideas. I'll try renaming on the next one that pops up but I'm guessing that won't solve some ...

Anybody with much experience Using Handbrake on a Mac?
For the past several months I have been using handbrake to convert video files to run on my iphone. I've used FFmpegX for years but Handbrake has more up to date presets and can still handle softsubs easily. The catch is, is that every now and then I run into an .avi file that freaks Handbrake out. ...

Curious about M Riders
Does anybody know if there are any groups planning to (or considering) sub the M Riders? I am aware that the show was targeted for kids, and appeared to be made on a budget of roughly twelve dollars per episode but I am still really hoping someone will take a shot at the show. I've always been a fan...

Dramafever ads broken in Safari
Somebody may have already pointed this out but the Dramafever ads are pretty badly broken when viewing either the new torrent page or any page on dramawiki. The Dramafever stuff will appear in a single narrow column that runs pretty long that either pushs all other content below it (at first I thoug...

Google Malware warnings on D-Addicts
This is a first for me, but starting today whenever I try to look at a page on d-addicts.com google spits up a Malware warning. (I'm using the Safari browser)It looks like it may be linked to the banner ads. One of the site it lists as positive for malware is ebannerz.net but that isn't the only pag...

Sorry, I failed to mention one important step. Along with downloading the most recent unofficial build you need to download the binary codec package. Those are found on the main download page on mplayer's site. (the same page that the link to the unofficial builds is found) Just scroll down and pick...

mmpegx has worked for me but it has become clear that it is at best imperfect solution for a variety of reasons. First, and foremost although it installed and worked well for me many people have had less luck despite following all the steps precisely. Even when it works it is less than ideal because...

Simpleme88, I'm not sure why your having a problem without a step by step explaination of what you have tried and without knowing what Mac you are using. All of which can seem overwhelming if your not overly familiar with computers. You may be able to bypass the whole problem by checking and seeing ...

The issue is not that you are using a Macbook. Although I have installed and used the program on a IMac and a MacBook, the MacBook is actually the computer I use to convert files nine times out of ten. I have a friend with another Macbook who wanted me to install ffmpegx onto his computers. I'll try...

Azureus is definately the client to use if you are using a Mac. Older Macs will groan a bit due to the amount of resources it uses since it is Java based, but on any newer Mac it is far and away the best solution given it's extensive feature set, and regular updates. (Just make sure your up to date ...

I installed ffmpegX onto another intel Mac (an iMac this time) an still did not have any problems. The only way I was able to induce an error was to not rename a .rmvb file as .rm before dropping it into ffmpegX, but the error log is entirely different in that case. Wish I had better advice. About a...

Aaargh, I'm useless for getting info from log reports. First off, I cannot stress the importance of MT877's instruction to only use the mencoder file types for your output file, but assuming that you followed those instructions I'm not sure what went wrong. I've used the program about 20 times this ...

I download shows to my 60gb harddrive (don't laugh its a Macbook laptop) or my 120 gb external harddrive. Episodes are stored just long enough to collect a DVD worth and then burned. I use standard DVD-Rs that I get for 9.99 a spindle of 50. That equals 20 cents a DVD or about a nickel a gig. I use ...

It sounds like the best approuch for a pc to tv set up is to simply treat the tv as a second moniter and bypass Windows media center usage altogether. What concerns me for many of my friends is the age of their tvs. Few have HD sets and thus most probably lack component hook ups. I know there are vi...

Vulcan300, Nice setup, I'm curious as to what software solution you are using for your media center pc. How stable is it? How easy to use? I think that interest in anime and/or manga leading to an interest in Jdramas is probably a huge factor in bringing more attention to jdramas ingeneral. For example the Hana Yori Dano anime can lead to the manga (or vis versa) can lead to the live action show can lead to other shows featuring the st...

Christaluvdrama, I hope I made it clear that for an Xbox to work like I use it it must be modded. A standard Xbox will only play regular DVDs (with a DVD remote) and audio CDs. To play a burned DVD with media files like .avis, .mkv and .rmvb the Xbox must be modded and have media player software ins...

Actually there is not anything particularly complicated about the set up we use with the Xbox. I download shows to one of two Macs. If I want a hard copy of a show (which I pretty much always do) I burn it off to a DVD. I can pop the DVD in my Xbox and play any shows as simply as playing a conventio...

I tried changing the settings in Real Player but it still is not adding the subtitles despite being in the same folder and having the same name as the video file. How Do You Watch Your Dramas
I am interested in how different people usually watch the dramas they download. What I mean is that while many people simply watch the shows directly on their computer, there have to be other people who prefer the experience of watching the dramas on their televisions. For instance while all the com...
