Thank you for all your help.
I more or less decided on my topic by now and it will probably mainly focus on Yakitate!! Japan's Kawachi Kyôsuke for that matter.
I wonder how it will work out....

^ Interesting idea... Any reason why you are focusing purely on the Kansai dialects as opposed to any regional dialect in Japan? Well, yes. XD First of all, one has to limit oneself to something, as it might get too much to do for a 80 pages paper. I want to focus on Osaka, as it is my favorite dia...

Thank you very much for your help so far. Is a variety show OK? HeyHeyHey! Music Champ and Downtown DX's Matsumoto and Hamada (aka Downtown) both speak in Kansai dialect (aka Kansai-ben) in their jokes usually. Most Manzai(Kansai style comedy) acts also speak Kansai dialect. Hope this helps! :D Hmm,...

Anime, Manga and Dorama that feature Kansai-dialect speakers
Hello !!
For my MA Thesis, I am in need of anime, manga and/or dorama that feature characters that are considered to speak what is called Kansai-dialect or Osaka-dialect.
Can you name a few, preferably with the specific character mentioned?
Thank you very much !!

:w00t: 日本語を勉強するはとてもすきです Is that correct? I think that this would be better: [私は] 日本語勉強が大好きです。 Please tell me if i'm wrong! Both are not quite correct. For the first one, a correct version would be: 日本語を勉強するのは (or: が) とても大好きです。 (I like to study Japanese.) You need to have a noun before the particle ...

It definately depends on the context. The passive form has much more functions than just being a passive form. It can for example also be a form of respect. (for example when describing actions of a person higher in rank) In this case, its probably the third function of the passive: The passive can ...

I just remembered what's been bothering me. Apart from the great theme/insert song, they STILL have the same music all the way from the first season in 2002. -_- They might have added something new, but you can still hear the same old stuff. When someone gets in trouble. When Yankumi is giving an i...

I can't wait for Season 3. I love Nakama Yukie!!  (This reminds me that I'm still searching for an opportunity to watch Trick...) These days, I was re-watching Season 2 (which I think is better than the first season). Scenes with Yankumi and the vice principal are absolutely funny. ^^ I h...

Searching for a Japanese Comedy Show
Hi there! I'm looking for a TV Show, I watched when I was in Japan this late summer. I don't know what it is called and on which channel it was broadcasted, but I know what it was about. XD In the show, comedians could enter and fight for an amount of money. Randomly 5 people from the audience were ...

@frashdi87: Don't know, if I will use this video. I have to talk to my teacher about this. But this video is one you can easily understand without knowing Japanese. And it has some reference to English. XD I laughed so hard at 'ten-ten-ten-ten-ten-ten-ten-ten-ten-ten'. @sirya: Thank you. I just saw,...

Could anyone tell me, what kind of dialect Iguchi (and Megumi) is (are) speaking? Megumi says in Episode 1 that it's Tsugaru-ben, but in Episode 2, when she talks with this guy at the gokon, it is said that she comes from Aomori prefecture. So is the latter a part of a larger region, eventually call...
