Sadly it seems that women get treated rather badly in just about any Asian series.

Not only the physical abuse, but also verbal and mental. The pressure from society and its heavy expectations, the double standards compared to the men... that is one of my major problems with them.

You should go to a "wet" market, it's something you don't see in most developed countries, then go to a steak place after. Err, or not, if you are sqeamish or have a delicate stomach!

Call me pessimistic, but given the kind of cruddy productions that come out of the US, they would, in all likelyhood, completely botch any remakes or adaptations. So no, I don't think they should try.
