Japanese SoTW (11/30/08) - Aoi Tori / L'oiseau Bleu

Post by mizune » Nov 17th, '08, 02:47

New poll!
Because of the popularity of the lat poll, I've kept a couple of the nominees for this poll. The same SP Pack and Kou Kou Kyoushi remain for another run, but since Boku no Aruku Michi has picked up a few seeders (thanks!), I decided to replace that series with another one.

The new contenders this week are Aoi Tori (a series perennially in need of seeds) and Busu no Hitomi ni Koishiteru (for a little variety since the rest of the nominees are pretty heavy :fear:).

Many thanks go out to those seeding the current JSoTW (News no Onna). Thank you for your support! :salut:

VOTE for the next JSoTW above

What is the Japanese Series of the Week (SoTW)? More Info Here
Due to the substantial number of torrents on this site, we implemented a "Series of the Week," where we could dedicate bandwidth and seeding efforts to a specific series. This helps in several ways:
1. People will know which series was voted and will be seeded, rather than just waiting and hoping for them to be seeded at some later date.
2. For those seeders who have DVD burners and have already burnt their collections to DVD/CD, the series of the week gives them an opportunity to dust off those archives and help seed their favorites.
3. Constantly re-circulates older torrents back into view, and focuses bandwidth and demand toward specific torrents, rather than having people request series across the board.
Remember, D-Addicts was started for the community, and being a part of the community means sharing. If you don't share, then everyone loses (refer to JEM's dropping of cdramas). Bittorrent and DA works much better if you share as others have shared with you.

======================================================================

If you are willing to seed any of the series in the poll, please post a reply here or in the JSoTW: Looking For Volunteer Seeders thread or PM anyone of the mods or admins. There are still several series which do not have volunteer seeders, so any help would be greatly appreciated! The more seeders we have, the more variety we will have in future JSoTW polls!

Reminder: You must have at least 10 posts to vote. Don't start spamming the forum, but this encourages you to get involved in some of those drama discussions!

Voting for Aoi Tori, because the story sounds great.

I have already seen Busu... but it's a lovely dorama as well.^^
Koukou Kyoushi sounds good, but I watched the more recent version and right now I have enough of this story....

Definitely going Kou Kou Kyoushi. I've been looking for some good older dramas. :)

That sp pack doesn't look to hot compared to the new competitors this time for some reason, so for that reason I voted Aoi Tori because it sounds like a pretty interesting drama.

Ya...L'oiseau Bleu was...a bore. I'll be honest though, I couldn't make it past episode 5 or so. Maybe it got better.

And now for something completely different.
Aoi Tori is one of my favorite J-dramas and I thought
the first 4-5 episodes were exceptional and the best part of the series.
I can certainly see why this might not be some people's cup of tea but it really
worked for me.

Since I've already seen this, my vote goes to the SP pack.

Uh, I actually like Aoi Tori (and pretty much every work by Nozawa Hisashi)... :unsure:
I was actually referring to how well the 2 new contenders were doing compared to the older ones... ^_^;;;

Ahh...he's one of the reasons I watched it. I also wanted to see the young Anne Suzuki. But yeah, with his shows, the way things are revealed you really have to watch the entire thing before you judge it. Like I said, I didn't go through with Aoi Tori...

Congratulations to the winner this week, Aoi Tori!
As always, please help out the stragglers by seeding News no Onna for as long as possible.

Thanks!
