If you do a lot of copy/pasting parts of an image then I recommend using GIMP because it has a very useful cut/paste tool called intellgent scissors. In less than half an hour, I took a picture, copy/pasted, added extra light sources and adjusted the contrast to make myself blend into the picture, and... voila!tran05 wrote: Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8, I'm still learning so I didn't do very good job on that pix but I love it.
Thanks for your recommendation but what is GIMP? Where can I get that?gyoza wrote:If you do a lot of copy/pasting parts of an image then I recommend using GIMP because it has a very useful cut/paste tool called intellgent scissors. I agree..I already knew that there were non-asians that like asian dramas but I wish some were in my area because most of the asians in my school either don't speak english or they like to hang out with their own kind..if you want to put it that waySunStar wrote:AND OMG... i though that there were majority of Asians... i never thought that there would be caucasians who are into Asian dramas.... this is sooooo neat... i wish my causasian friends were drama addicts... that way.... we can watch them together and i can have them download other series while i'm downloading another... that way... we'll get at several series to watch at one time.... LOL
lol I'm the only one out of my caucasian friends that likes Asian dramas (well other than my sister but she don't count lol) I end up watching them with my Asian friends. sometimes it pays to live in the international dorm at college lolOvertheRainbow wrote:I agree..I already knew that there were non-asians that like asian dramas but I wish some were in my area because most of the asians in my school either don't speak english or they like to hang out with their own kind..if you want to put it that waySunStar wrote:AND OMG... i though that there were majority of Asians... i never thought that there would be caucasians who are into Asian dramas.... this is sooooo neat... i wish my causasian friends were drama addicts... that way.... we can watch them together and i can have them download other series while i'm downloading another... that way... we'll get at several series to watch at one time.... There is a lot of caucasians into drama... they follow into it from anime usually though! a buddy at work liked watching anime but i think i converted him from showing him a jdrama
I think most english speakers don't watch it because they cant be bothered to read the subs, is my guess!
i hate bad dubs i cringe everytime i see an old Jackie Chan movie actully i fall on the floor laughing. i agree when i first started watching dramas i had a hard time reading fast enough at first but now i've read so many sub that i've picked up most words and can make a really good guess as to what is going on. and then if i don't understand something i read the subs.OvertheRainbow wrote:wingsky wrote:My dad is chinese from hk... moved over when he was 14, but yeah i used to look quite oriental when i was younger.. must have grown out of it hahaha ^_^

Lol...I think the thing about english speakers having to read subtitles is true..it reminds me of this comedian who made fun of like America when crouching tiger hidden dragon came out with english subtitles cz most people around the country were having a hard time keeping up with the story cz they couldn't read. Anyways, I would much rather have english subtitles in theaters than have the people dub it with the horrible voices they find on the streets
Actually, I'm guilty of watching dubbed dramas but I was young and it was chinese, sometimes korean dramas dubbed in viet so I couldn't really recoginze that it was dubbed. What I would really hate is to see a foreign movie in theaters dubbed in english cz it ruins the cultural experience and I would much rather have subs. I agree with you Oguri_Shun_fan, at first the subs were a bit overwhelming but I've read so many that I can read the lines before it switches to the next one. I think regular americans are just lazy and not culturaly exposed. Eveytime I say something about dramas, my friend just rolls her eyes and calls me a "little drama-obessive asian" but it's just like them watching their regular shows like friends or lost. (except better ) I've never actually watched lost but I read that they don't let the korean guy speak in english yet...?Mythrel wrote:LOL actually I thought wingsky looked a bit chinese and wasn't sure till he said it LOL.
My parents refuse to read anything on the TV too. Like they just bought a 60" big screen so the problem of the words being too small was a lie because when they tried to watch one my mom just left the room (ok she normally doesn't watch tv so its understandable) and my stepdad was not having a good time at all. Sad I would never watched a dubbed movie ever it actually irriates me.
