I don't like guys who constantly ask you sexual questions...it's annoying...there are other things to ask a person and talk about.
I also don't like guys who are arrogant or full of themselves, some confidence is great, but when they're more interested in themselves than trying to get to know me...so annoying!
I don't like guys who are gamers...i mean like die hard gamers...like as in spend most of their waking hours in front of the computer...a girl should never have to fight for affection with a computer.
I don't like guys who think of the girl their with/like as perfect...no one is perfect and well there are beauty in flaws.
I also don't like guys who complain about everything...the last guy I dated...he hated any movie that wasn't Jackie Chan, Kung Fu Hustle, or Shaolin Soccer....those are great movies...don't get me wrong, but expand your interests a little...the Jackie Chan film fest had me wanting to claw my eyes out.
Another thing...just because you've gone to school for something specific or you know a lot about a certain thing...that doesn't mean you know EVERY thing about it!
Really when you think about it...there are a lot of things that can put you off of a person. Everyone has different quirks that can annoy the hell out of you, but if you really like the person you can overlook some of them.

Men who are sexist towards women
Men who fart in front of me!! I don't do it, so please don't o it back. Though - I have been lucky and have never been with a guy who has farted in front of me
Hairy chests - sorry - but I must wax you if I am to touch your chest I'll make it worth it though
I can't think of anything else...yet
p.s. I can't cook :
My biggest turn-off right now would have to be guys that are too introverted and can't hold a normal conversation. I'm pretty shy myself, but if a guy on a date asks me something I try to come up with more than monosyllabic answers. When the responsibility of keeping the conversation going is entirely on your end then it just sucks you dry of any energy.
I also don't like guys who easily badmouth other people, other cultures, lifestyles as well as those who think they have the right to order me around and impose their opinions upon me.
Other than that I guess basic turn-offs like no hygiene and an ego the size of Russia apply as well.

Oh I so agree....nothing bothers me more than silence when your out on a date. I understand guys aren't massive talkers for the most part...but well anything is better than silence. It's horrid when you feel you're doing all the talking and then you think you're talking too much...when yeah...you are, but then they're giving you no choice unless you want the massive awkwardness.
I don't like people who are closed minded either. I'm pretty open minded and well there are some things guys have said around me before that just make me cringe...like actually cringe. I once dated a guy who called all things Japanese 'Japcrap' and it drove me nuts....just because they don't share the same cultural interests as you...it doesn't give them the right to slam it.

Things that turn me off include;
- not being open-minded
- being disrespectful
- sex obsessed
- bad personal hygiene
- not taking responsibility or being responsible
- spoiled and arrogant behavior
- looking down on others
- selfishness
- laziness (goes with not being responsible and spoiled)
- drinking alcohol just for the sake of getting drunk
- smoking (it's unhealthy)
- POSERS
- commenting on how I should act
- telling me what I should be
- inappropriate physical contact
- being egotistic
- gets angry or jealous too easily
- has no self-respect or value for oneself

My top ten massive turnoffs. Sorted in order of severity.
10. People with special dietary needs.
*Yes, I think being a fruitarian/vegetarian/beanarian is really cute. But what? You think you're too good to eat what I eat?
9. People who breathe through their mouths.
*Honestly, if your nose is stopped up, don't breathe at all.
8. People with hair longer than 9.4 inches.
*9.3 is fine, but 9.4 is completely unacceptable.
7. People who want to "talk things out".
*Look, if we're mad at each other over something, chances are I'm right anyway. Skip the talking, and start thinking of ways to apologize like you should be doing.
6. People who want to change you in a relationship.
*You should have never gone out with me to begin with if you didn't like the way I was.
5. People who refuse to change for me in a relationship.
*I'm only asking you not to do this, and this, or be like this. It's not too much to ask for the sake of the relationship that you change several things about yourself for me.
4. People who don't agree with my musical tastes.
*I fail to see why you can't just like my music, it's so much better than what you like.
3. Compromise.
*Why should I give up something I enjoy, just so that you can be happy?
2. People who have neurotic mental checklists they hold others to.
*Standards are great, but there's a person on the other end too.
1. People who don't inform the other party when they've somehow failed said checklist.
*They won't know it's a turnoff unless you tell them.

I don't like guys with **** attitudes. This caused me to break up with my last bf. He just became a bit too full of himself and had too much pride. I hate it when guys talk too much about how great they are, thinking that it impresses girls when it doesn't.
Quiet guys are a turn off. Too quiet and reserved and no humor at all...
I also don't like guys with no common sense. If a guy is taking a girl on a date for the first time or ANY time at all, they should never make the girl pay for the meal. They can have the girl pay for her share, but they should never make the girl pay for the guy. wtf? Some guys really don't know how to be gentlemen.

there's nothing wrong with quiet guys, they can be loud sometimes if they feel comfortable around you, you just need to let them know that there's nothing to be embarrased about.
I think smoking turns me off really bad.
Guys who are full of themselves.
Bad Hygiene.
Breath stinks.
Don't have no manners.
Sweat.
Bad teeth lol
Farts and burps.
Selfish.
And thats all i can think of, post more later.

For some reason, when someone ask "what country are you from?” just this question itself completely turn me off that I do not want to talk to that person at all. The 2nd thing is talking Asian related topic because I'm Asian. Can't we talk about the weather, celebrity gossip, work gossip, why Asian stuff?

Hey i totaly agree with you and I am a girl. I personally believe that someone who does not know what's happening around the world and are not in actual reality, really turns me off.flynvballer wrote:ahhh im a picky arsehole haha lots of things turn me off.
this list is from pass experiences.
- when all of a suddent looking at her reminds me of my sister.... eww lol
- the weird smell of her strawberry lip balm. (what is that smell... oh its me .. u like?? um no ...)
- when i drop u off u better be out of my car in the next minute, no point in holding on to me and getting out slowly tryin to hold onto my finger until the very last second
- no need to call me all the time, i rather watch my drama than talk to u...wait til im done i'll call u to say good nite
- if u wanna date me u better be able to understand what im talking about! was having a convo about the washington "sniper" who killed 13 people or so 4 years ago. after the short convo, she goes, what is a "sniper?" yes apparently she's lived in canada for a long time but doesnt no a lot of vocabulary, but not only that, she doesnt have any idea of whats going on inthe world or locally.
- girls who always party, always go clubbing, its not a bad thing but i dunno, i get very turned off towards any girls who party a lot....ur not necessarily a slut par say but too bad ur a slut to me
- teeth, i know ppl cant help it, and i had really horrible teeth before but thats what braces are for... really, go get braces and fix ur teeth! no money? ... then too bad im already turned off.
- girls who dress sexy/slutty.... nice to look at, but not someone i'd introduce to the family .... or friends...
like i said, im an arsehole...
might as well start a thread about FlyNvballer's pet peeves....
WOW man, you have high standards don't ya!!! LOL i am a girl and the thing in look for in a guy is respect, honesty, responsiblity, common sense, and a caring and kind person who can relate to others and not just think of himself. Sorry but guys who have high standers turn me off. don't worry I don't mean u, because another thing that turns me off is when someone judges someone before knowing them. For all i know u may be a very nice person...Valcun wrote:I hate to say this girls, But I am a man with high standards.

lol, i agree with u, however all my friends are asian, and talk to them about asian things like dramas, celebs and stuff like that because I myself am interested in it, not because my friend is asian, i have non asian friends and i talk about asian stuff, however they usually don't listen because they don't care......THIS is what TURNS ME OFF...when a person is only interested in their own things...like things only about their country, race, personal interests and culture, and don't allow them selves to experience other peoples culture and stuff that might be interesting as well....lunas wrote:For some reason, when someone ask "what country are you from?” just this question itself completely turn me off that I do not want to talk to that person at all. Goodness interesting posts:
@ supaxina:....if the girl is the one who suggested to go out to eat; even on a first date, the girl better prepare to pay for both meals. It's her suggestions.....after the first date, still who ever is the one that suggest the fun, will be mostly responsible for the pills....ok that's my two cents
@ lunas:....maybe they ask about Asian things because they are interested in Asian things, but not just because your an Asian?
@ flynvballer:....hmm what can I say, except I have to agree with you ....yes, you are right, you sure are a very big harsehole....the girl just want to let you know how she feels, that's why she holds on to your finger and calls you....
@ valcun:...."accents that nobody can understands"....well, I have one thing to say to you: You're not just too intelligent enough to understand him/her; when that poor soul is doing her best to communicate to you, so it is you whom should be on shame....

I totally agree with this one. The other person is trying their best and it's sad when you're that close minded. This isn't just for heavy accents but for people with speaking handicaps too.mimmi wrote: @ valcun:...."accents that nobody can understands"....well, I have one thing to say to you: You're not just too intelligent enough to understand him/her; when that poor soul is doing her best to communicate to you, so it is you whom should be on shame....

this is such a fun forum!
Turns me off list
When people take a long time to answer a question that you ask them and then (if they didn't answer you) they half ass an answer and just guess (this is not including test and what not)
When people take credit for the good deed other's did, but blames them later if it turns out bad (REALLY pisses me off!)
When people expect you to listen to them ut won't listen to your side of the story! (more focused on bad parents and bad friends)
Another is when parents are to cling-ing to you and want to know EVERYTHING (and i mean everything not just the 'how's your day' thing either) and won't sop bugging, talking, or leaving you alone(mom and aunt does that almost everyday and i get so pissed off!!!)
Then there's the people who make fun of you about something or makes a bad comment about something you have, finds out its popular and copies you! (i hate those the most!)
Lastly there are the people who copy your every move, besides mimes ofcourse (though they copy you, they stop after you've had enough) seriously, 4 years ago there was this girl who i decided to be friends with, she started to follow me EVERYWHERE, do EVERYTHING I did (at the same time!), and even take the SAME classes as i was taking! Call me sycho but this girl really needed to get a life instead of following me around.
Those are the things that REALLY turn me off, other wise there's a whole bunch more. you could say i'm picky when it comes to people around me, (that's what my mom told me before i went to sleep) hahaha!

Agreed. I hate it when people do that! Or when they say that they don't care about what we should do, that everything's "okay" with them, when it's really not. AARGH, it's so annoying. They should show some initiative too.wndestiny wrote:it ticks me off... jus when you wanna spend time wit her... yet all you get is a "i dunno kno" when you ask her where she wanna go... or what she wanna do.... every single time....

GRR I hate **** guys, no matter HOW hot they are. I hate the dumb ones too. I hate the shallow ones that easily fall in love with girls just 'cause they're "hot". I hate guys who don't respect their parents, guys who don't respect women, guys who talk "gangsta" (VERY common in my school), and guys who smell bad. There are probably more things that I hate in guys, but these are all I can think of for now.
Hmm i like this i'll just say things that otally turned me off that i had confronted thepeople doing it
1. when someone who's in a better position picks on someone helpless
e.g. bullying the class nerd who can't fight back
2. Arrogance...there is a difference between confidence in your abilities and just absolute bull****. If you are around each other all the time and every time that person opens their mouth the only thing you hear is "I'm great!" It will get to you.
3. Annoying people who can't take hints...i have a sense of humor but there is a time and place for everything you should be perceptive regarding the situation
3. Anything unhygienic bothers me...I mean I'll let occasional mishaps slide but persistent grooming problems i mean make yourself presentable coz the people around you is sharing that same courtesy...
That's the only thing I can think of right now but obviously think of all the negative adjectives you know then insert it here...there are things you can let slide...things that won't bother you as much but that's different for everyone

this question doesnt put me off, just only being addressed if i'm american in the winy voice 'hay maan' is enough to put me in a bad mood for most of the day.lunas wrote:For some reason, when someone ask "what country are you from?” just this question itself completely turn me off that I do not want to talk to that person at all. as for what else you say, these forums are mostly asian people living aboard in other countrys with the odd exception of white people [me]
so what else put me off? girls using me as a walking ATM or getting in a bad mood and telling me its my fault, but i have to guess why as if i should know why

Can't believe I found this thread. This is interesting.
Things that pisses me off:
- Guys who aren't honest with people.
- Guys who lies about themselves (it happened to me in my first and only relationship, my ex lying about who he was. this really turned me off)
- Guys who has no respect for women and think of them as things.
- People who thinks they are better that anyone else and all they talk about is about themselves.
- People who play with my feelings or someone else's feelings.
- People who think negatively about life and themselves.
- People who gossip about what others are doing and criticize them behind their back.
- Being used by people.

- People who play with my feelings or someone else's feelings.
- People who think negatively about life and themselves.
- People who gossip about what others are doing and criticize them behind their back.
- Being used by people.
things that turn me off
-thug-looking guys
-behaves improperly (being disrepectful to the elderly, swears just to show off how a man should be. Guys like that look plain stupid)
-smells bad
-dresses badly
-is a big-mouth
-when they don't keep their words without a good reason
-weak (mentally and physically)
I'm not sure if this counts as a turnoff but I hate guys who think they are the king of the unniverse. Well not just guys, girls as well.

I've got a few major turn off(s) for men. >_>
I hate those who:
- can't differentiate the real world and their fantasy world
- plans a lot just to harm somebody who truly loves them
- can't dress properly: Unkempt hair, T-shirt& Bermudas & Slippers when you're out with him on a date
- one who thinks highly of themselves
- spoilt brats : men with female brains
- lastly : MCP
Minor ones would probably be those which is already mentioned.
I just had this super ridiculous experience of a relationship with this -man- who can't think straight 1 year back, the planning of how he's going die in XXX days. Apparently almost one year plus has passed and he's still alive kickin'. Haha, and now he's with a new gf who just undergone operation because of a tumour. Perfect. His brain is totally screwd and rotten.

MCP stands for male chauvinist pigs <- similar to men who thinks highly to themselves but I find this more serious than that. -_-; one who forces their "girl" to dress what they think they look good in and make themselves feel "happy". Sounds sick yeah. =/jagoan` wrote:Pardon me but what's MCP? lol sounds interesting and yes I do hate spoiled brats too, I find them too easy to trick lolz, but it's fun sometimes T_TTrisix wrote:I've got a few major turn off(s) for men. >_>

And ya, spoiled brats never fails to make me laugh because I'll end up laughing at their immaturity. :3
oh oh oh how bout this people who always says they can do everything but when the do it they'll use their favourite line..."Well you see I haven't done this for a while..."
for example...this friend of mine rite he thinks he's so good playing the guitar, and when I gave him my guitar he was like oh can I see the tab for this song, i haven't played guitar for a while...
Inside I was like...-.-" big time....

jagoan`: Hi there, I'm a Penangite too and guess what, I'm studying in Aus (too? Guess you're a student there right?) BUT in Melbourne.
I'm back here now, but going back Down Under in two weeks. The Chinatown's pretty big in Syd right? No celebrations? I heard that there was just a CNY parade in Melb today.
Happy Chinese New Year
Gosh sorry
Trisix: Your ex-boyf is sad. I'm glad you broke up with him. It's the worst when you're with people who get you DOWN=extremely negative people. My ex ages ago was something like that too, though not as extreme.
What turns me off:
Let's start with the physical.
- sweaty, smelly body odour (there's no way I can get close with somebody like that!)
- bad breath (yeah I know there's something about me and smells >.<)
- shorter than me
- unshaven facial hair (I prefer the clean-cut look)
And the rest:
- Overly sensitive and whiny (what's the difference between that and a girl friend?! I can't even stand girl friends who whine too much already...)
- Needy, dependant types (I don't want to be a living rescue float)
- Unfocused, no ambition, totally confused over what they want types
- Those who try to get too close (physically) too soon
- Smokers (though I'm not really that sure about this)
- Pessimistic, wallowing in self-pity types (I don't want it to rub off on me)
... Am I putting up overly-high expectations??

Hey jagoan`. Haha yeah... Melbourne is crawling with Indonesians, in fact I have many Indonesian friends from college in Melbourne! Nice, friendly people. (: Too bad they only teach me the 'bad' words... Lemme try one... Excuse me... "Gonggok". LOL (sorry)
Melbourne is COLD here. >.< (It should be summer right...)
Anyway to stay on topic: 143dorky, I also don't really like those types who aren't confident... Oh gosh, I don't think I'll ever get married. -____-

I dont like people who use tatoos, or piercing. One time I remember I started chatting with a very beautifull girl but whjen I noticed her tatoo... my God! All her beautifulness disappeared in a second hehehe =P. I cant explain why is it like this. Maybe because I consider that things as an agression to the own body.
I also dont like people who smoke but I can tolerate this. But of course, I dont want a gf who smokes!
