hey guys...im just new with Jdramas...the first japanese tv series ive watched was Gokusen and then hana yori dango..
i only found out about Hana kimi when i was searching youtube for yuu shirota videos...anyway, i liked G a lot...i was even so crazy about F4 that i watched their concert in the Philippines(tickets were so expensive!)...
that's why i was so irritated that there was a japanese version, i was like"cant they make something else? i mean, what's the point" and everything... i even started criticizing how F4 looked much better blah blah blah...but it was really strange coz the more i scrutinized it to prove that it wasnt that good, the more i found out that it really ws interesting...im sorry, im not saying this to argue with anyone..it's just my opinion...I think the japanese actors in hana yori dango are better actors than the ones in MG...and every episode is just full of emotion, it's never bland or lacking of emotion(whether happy or sad)...and i think jun matsumoto played the lead better coz he exuded confidence in bearing himself just as i think the leader of F4 should...i didnt quite like the way Ah Si bore his role as the leader...he was just plain bossy but aside from that, the appeal and his image does not speak of handsome and horrendous at the same time...i hope u get what i mean...

and Shun gave Rui's character better justification than Vic did...i mean, Rui/Lei's character is mysterious and quiet but it doesnt mean that the expression is blank...i think that's what the writer of the manga meant by mysterious...there's supposed to be an expression but an unreadable one...

and i think the fact that there was a uniform gave more impact to HD...that, among may other things...

2 block is one of men’s hair cut or hair style which consists of 2 parts, top and bottom.
The bottom part is short and the top part is long.
I think he answered “I am ACTUALLY 2 block” because you don’t see it through Shun’s hair style in Hana kimi.

That's his mom ^^; She's really into Korean wave. Toma's house is filled with Korean stuff like magazines, cds, dvds etc. The only thing they watch on tv is Korean news/dramas etc even though his mom doesn't speak Korean but, sometimes she says some Korean words to him ^^; Like when he comes home late and his mom asks if he ate yet but he says no. She would reply "mianhe" rather than gomenasai.

Actually, the english word would be "Natural". Let me explain...
If a guy on the street was talking, and everyone thought it was funny, but he wasn't trying to be funny... I would say.. "he is a natural <comedian>". Comedian is implied in the context.
It means the same thing i think. To say someone is a natural at something.It's like saying they can do it with out even trying, or working hard at it. Much like they were naturally born with it. A "power of sorts". Japanese and English are sooooooo different, but so much the same. ne?

I always struggle when I try to explain Japanese comedians because I don’t know how you say ”boke” and “Tsukkomi” ,
but now at least I can call "boke” “a natural” if the boke is “Tennen”!

aWWWWWWWWWWWWww iam so sad this drama is over... i am watching so many other dramas which are serious, with action, romanantic, dramatic and sad story lines, however this one was perfect to watch when you needed a laugh, it was just very entertaining from the beging to the end and every episode made you laugh, i felt very sad for Nakatsu at the end, i really wanted her to be with him, however i know she ends up with sano, well it;s not a problem since i like oguri alot, i have a feeling there will be another sequal... i just hope so because the ending does not seem compelete...

Although some people said this show was a real disappointment to them i honestly have to say it was oddly refreshing. Like probably one of the funniest dramas i've seen. This drama would probably be up in my top ten if not my top 5 of favorite dramas all time. I really loved the characters. I pretty sad it's over now. I want to see a sequel. But if they did make a sequel i hope it wont be bad like other good shows that had a real bad sequel. But over all, this was a VERY AWESOME SHOW.

BUT i have a question...

This has got to be one of the best dramas yet. It had so much comic relief, and not to mention, a whole lot of good drama sections to boot. And now, I blame this drama for making my eyes as swollen as they are now from too much crying.

The manga is better than the drama. There's more romance in it. There's not as many crazy stuff as the drama. They just increased the craziness to 10 times in the drama, so some probably don't like it. But if you're looking for craziness, then you will find the manga boring.

the manga is one of, if not my absolute, favorite so i also suggest you go for it!!! the manga also has more characters that make the story much more interesting (like julia and rio, gilbert, etc) and someone had remarked that even though it didn't really show much in terms of character development, it was good when it came to developing the characters' relationships towards each other.

but the drama was really refreshing in the sense that even if you had memorized the manga, you wouldn't know what to expect from the drama every week it airs. and of course, all those ikemen!!! hehehe i'm gonna go home this weekend and reread the manga cos i miss hanakimi too much

Oh man... I just finished watching the last episode. It was absolutely amazing. The end made me a little curious though, does anyone know if there is going to be a second season, like the one they're currently working on for the taiwanese drama? They HAVE to HAVE a special!!!!!! I mean, I think they hinted on it, since Sano didn't EXACTLY say he "loves" Mizuki back yet. He didn't word it just yet. AND they did mention that there would be a school trip to California. So I HOPE that THAT suggests a SPECIAL. I mean, it's just too much of an EXTRA to add at the end to NOT indicate something.

i think nakatsu was hotter than oguri shun.
i dont kno nakatsu's real name so.. but anyways if i were the heroin i'd choose nakatsu. hes so much more fun. oguri shun's character was sugeee boring

Well, it's cuz of the director's adaptation of Sano. Sano isn't so bad in the manga, he made me smile and laugh quite a bit. Course I also screamed baka at him too in the manga cuz he has such a temper. ^^; Character wise, I still prefer Rui to Nakatsu ^^; I still fangirl and stare at the screen every time Rui shows up

oh yea did I mention he did the perfect acting for Rui? I am reading the manga and all his portrayal was right on the dot.
