This is my first time starting a thread. Please be nice.

I'm quite concerned nobody started a discussion thread for this dorama here in d-addicts. My reason for starting this thread might be selfish & please forgive me, but does anybody planning to upload the RAW via torrent here... gryzze? anybody? Please..

The buzz about this drama seems to swirl exclusively in Arashi fandom which I don't mind (love it actually) but I would love to hear more views on the dorama/manga from the active dorama watchers here. Looking forward to see this thread grow ^___^v.

I'm quite exciting that Oshinari Shugo will take on the role of Keiichi. His character is hilarious.. which is odd because I've only seen Shugo in serious roles. I can't wait to see him as the lovesick boy with a serious boy crush on Taro.

ITS LOOKING VERY PROMISING

Fun facts from the clips I manage to catch.
- Taro(Nino) conduct the piano playing Takuya(Sho) for the school orchestra. (Nodame???)
- housewives + Taro rushing to buy REALLY CHEAP korokke (ala the caramel puding race in MBMH)
- the girl who's playing Taro love interest was really cute. They had to reshoot a scene of them starring into each others eyes because the girl were so "doki-doki", blushing, and went really nervous (which made her smile when she was not suppose to).
- Taro father looks like the guy who played Kira in Death Note. or maybe like a cuter cooler version of Koichi+Ohno Satoshi..
- Sho-kun mastered the piano piece on the day of shooting
- Sho-kun have really big eyes, luscious lips &... ok.. i'll stop now..

Even though he can't speak much English, what he can he says clearly and with proper grammar! **hugs Nino**

Also, boooo to the people who thought that was staged. He speaks English in various other stuff too just as well. **dodges the flying food and sharp objects**

I'm really looking forward to this. The summary doesn't sound awfully exciting, but Nino's an awesome actor and Sho's in it, too. I hope it'll be good. It might not be getting a lot of attention because Hana-Kimi is also airing this season (which is also my most looked-forward-to jdorama, so I can't say anything ^^).

The posters look really nice.

ah.. sorry for the sudden burst of bold letters at the Kisarazu thread ^^;;;. I really love A Day In Our Life & Arashi and don't really care about Kattun's music :p (sorry Kattun fans, Jin's voice & Kame, Koki acting is great tho')

Sho-kun & Arashi are awesome guys. They have a lot of fanboys too from well known directors, novel writers, comedians & most of the TV host that had the pleasure of working with them... oops.. sorry for the Arashi babble.

I really want to watch this drama so bad. I have watched the SP and it seems that it's going to be so good, with good quality, with good acting and with an interesting story.

At first I had my doubts of this drama but after I watched the SP, they changed my mind by complete.

And the theme song is really good, but I don't know why it gives me a nostalgic feeling...

The previous drama (Tokkyu Tanaka 3 Go) I liked it so much, so I think that TBS will do an excellent job in this drama

And the previous one was HYD2... And I liked it too.

I really hope that this drama can do it very well. And I'm glad that today is the day of the first episode

The cinematography is similar, but there is quite a bit of well-done CG in the fantasy scenes. The opening scene.... lawl

They managed to make the school look very luxe without being stuffy. Nice comparison between that and the Yamada shack.

I know they don't want to manga-fied the drama, but if only they put stars or some sort of glow-y lights around Yamada whenever he smiles.. that would probably be more convincing.. because that 'ding' did not help much. He looks.. normal. Not really faint worthy.

I love Nino and all. He's adorable, so is Yamada, but he's not exactly gorgeous. It'll take some getting use to, but what I love so far is the relationship between him & his siblings. I knew I'll get some teary eyes watching them together.. and I sort of did.

It feels as if the drama is more on the serious side ..but then again, it's only the beginning. Episode 2 will be hilarious!

anyways, the episode was good. i watched it raw so i didnt understand most of it, but

cant wait for the subs to come out so i can understand the episode better.

Don't worry, more people will watch the show and it has a built-in audience just from Arashi fandom. More people will watch, love it, and start talking. Hana Kimi has all the hype at the moment but I've been looking forward to this ever since it was announced.

While watching the first episode, I kept thinking I saw the main female lead in another show. I didn't want look it up online. I bet myself to figure out before the show ends.

Finally came to me half way through the show. She play the childhood friend in the movie "Way of the Blue Sky". Wonderful little movie, if you like school drama. You had to watch the movie twice to figure out the action of the main character in the movie. The movie is like live action version of some Anime.

woooow , what a drama
at first, i was more excited to watch hana kimi than yamada taro but after watching 1st ep of both drama, i have to say that YTM captured my heart.
this would be my main drama to watch for this season. it's just great. i was crying at those last scenes. those little kids were so adorable. its just as good as HYD. loving it so much.
even though 1st ep did not live up to my expactations, i am still going to give it a try. after all, its hanazawa rui

About the ratings:

For the last season I always checked for the ratings for Tokkyu Tanaka 3 Go (TBS, 10:00 PM). So I know a little how it works.

Well for the dramas in friday, saturday and sunday the ratings are at 10:30 PM (Tokyo) in monday (earlier or later, but around that hour).

And for the dramas in monday, tuesday, wednesday and thursday are the next day (of that day) at the same hour (earlier or later, but around that hour).

Finally came to me half way through the show. She play the childhood friend in the movie "Way of the Blue Sky". Wonderful little movie, if you like school drama. You had to watch the movie twice to figure out the action of the main character in the movie. The movie is like live action version of some Anime.

Tabe Mikako is in this? Another reason I should check out this drama then.

If you like seishun dramas like "Way of the Blue Sky", you should see if you can find "Yoru no Pikunikku / The Night-time Picnic". They share much of the same cast and were both directed by Nagasawa Masahiko.

I just saw the first episode... and it was definitely entertaining! I liked the Arashi theme song in the beginning (I can't wait to see the PV for that), and Nino and Sho were both good fits for their roles. It's pretty amazing to me that Nino is already 24 and he can pull of being a high schooler!

I liked the bits with Yamada's smile making others swoon over him. Kind of unrealistic, but it was really funny. Nino's really cute though.

The previews for episode 2 seemed... interesting. I'll definitely be watching it though!
